I used this tool to construct the end walls on my commercial greenhouse. Being in a remote location the use of big heavy air tanks was not possible, or at least not convenient. I used this without the need for tanks or air hoses and it performed flawlessly. It has never jammed on me or let me down. My wife uses it for craft projects and finds it much easier to work with, and more pleasant to work around because of the lack of air pumps screaming in your ear. Nice and portable, we can take it anywhere, in and out of the house and other places without consideration of a bigger tank-based air tool setup. If there is a framing nailer version of this, I gotta have it!

I orginally purchase a green brand from a box store thinking it would be better... gun could not sink nails in cedar. Got my $$ back. Purchased this gun. Works great. It is heavy. I would not recommend for a professional. Installed 3/4 hardwood and 1 inch oak stair treads. No problem.

Update 3/16/21. I use this nailer more than I thought. It is great for quick fixes and nails 2" and below very well. I would give it at least 4.5 stars. Great value for the money. Very good value for the money. My experience is the nailer does well up to 2" of pine with the protective cover off. Ended up getting air nailer out with this one to speed things up. Neutral on whether I would purchase again. If you are considering this vs a pneumatic get the air kits (pancake compressor) with a finishing or brad nailer.

I bought this nailer bc I wanted the ability to shoot 2.5" nails into boards. That an easy task with the 16 GA model. Yes, it's a bit pricier than the 18 GA model, but you get what you pay for. - Charging was fast - Load nails from the bottom, slide lever to hold ... easy - Built-in safety lock - Comes with 50 2" and 2.5" nails (a bit of a misnomer since you only use thin steel wire "nails") - Cheaper than most comparable nailers - Made in the USA! - Smooth shooting - Not noisy, not heavy Great job, Craftsman!
