I have zero knowledge about tools. All I know is that I can't hang anything up straight to save my life. I even used a regular ruler and made markings and still mounted something crooked. Go figure. Then I remembered the only noteworthy piece of advice from my ex-boyfriend about needing a level for those kinds of jobs. I always brushed it off and told him 'but that's what you're for.. what else would I use you for?' lol. I don't know if it's due to my age but I do things more crooked now to the point that I have to admit defeat and get a level. I was a little apprehensive since like I mentioned at the beginning I don't know anything about a level much less what kind to get. I don't even know what it's supposed to look like or the general price range. So then what felt like the never ending research began. I would love to get one of those laser levels but not willing to pay what they're asking. I guess when I have my mid-life crisis and decide to become a carpenter then I may invest in one of those. I really just wanted a basic level tool for the average person that is just trying to hang items in their house straight. Wasn't looking for anything too fancy. I also didn't want to necessarily get the cheapest one as sometimes you really do get what you pay for and end up wasting more money instead of saving. I decided on this one and couldn't be happier. I love my awesome level. It isn't too small and not too big. I don't have to go around carrying a yard stick to make the straight lines after I make all the markings with the level. This level is long enough for me to be able to take care of that part too! It is a little on the heavy side but I don't care. It could also serve the purpose of hitting an intruder upside the head or getting some arm exercise by doing arm curls with it. Not only will it tell me if I'm straight or not it also has angles!! So if I wanted anything at any other angle other than 180 then I can and it will be straight!! The angles are on both sides which is cool. I didn’t want to spend a fortune on a level. I trust the craftsman name though. I ordered it knowing that name is usually quality & the Amazon return policy is pretty wonderful too. However I didn’t need to worry it’s aGREAT level. I actually bought faux stone from Amazon as well for the base of my Manufactured home bcz I hate the aluminum soffit that’s under my vinyl siding. I love the stone look but I knew I needed a level to install it correctly. This arrived & it did a fine job of lining up the faux stone. I’ll add a pic. I’m so happy with this price & the quality of this level & how it helps me with my jobs around my new second home a winter get away in Arizona. The level works both vertically & Horizontally. Also has measurements on the side for also doing fast measurements on the object your leveling & may need to cut. ... show more

This is an excellent deal for the price. It’s large, sturdy, and works real well. It’s very intuitive, even for those new to tools. After using and owning it I also can’t believe I didn’t buy this sooner. I’m not a professional, but rather a DIYer who just loves handing pictures, curtain rods, building patio stuff, etc. Even just having a literal ruler attached to the side comes in handier than I ever thought it would. One hack that helps is to use this in combination with painters tape or masking tape and to hang things with multiple drill holes required nice and level becomes real easy.
