I ordered this because I am always dropping things behind my cabinet at work....that is too close to the wall and too big to move conveniently. (Also working on a method to stop things from dropping in the gap that doesn't look awful, but that's another issue, another day!). I remember my dad having one of these years ago that was who knows how old, so I was really surprised at how sturdy this one is. The spring is very strong and seems like it will hold up. If I had one complaint, I would say that it maybe it is too strong! I'm sure that's only an issue for my use trying to cram it in a tight space and press down on the top to pick up something up in a dark crevice. It took me a couple of tries to get used to how much pressure to use to operate. Also - while I am familiar with tools and like to think I'm strong enough to do what needs doing, I do have little lady fingers. 😄 Sturdier folks will probably have no issues with the amount of effort needed to operate this. I just registered this on the Craftsman website, and the lifetime warranty goes until 2126...and I definitely think the spring on this will last that long, if not longer! Overall - five stars - it retrieved what I needed, and I could probably use some good finger strengthening anyway. ... show more
