Purchased to use in flatbed trailer tires. So far I am impressed with how it works. Trailer does not shake & vibrate like it used to. Installation is a different story. Took a little bit to learn how to get beads to actually go into the tire, but once I figured it out, it was not terrible bad.

I have a 2006 bmw 330ci that has had a persistent slight steering wheel vibration at 70 mph. Nothing serious, but after having the tires balanced by two different tire shops the vibration was still there. Out of options, I decided to try these beads and I'm so glad I did. I put in about 3 ounces on each front tire and I'm happy to report that the vibration is gone. Some users have reported issues with putting them inside the tire. First, these DO follow sound and proven physics, so they should work in principal, BUT: The quantities in the charts available, published online and included, give very generic numbers, based only on the width of the tire and type of bike. For a dual-sport with 21/18" wheels with rim locks, 2 oz are given for the front wheel and 3 for the back. However, the weight required for the static balance I did before was 4.6 oz and 5.7 respectively. Therefore, double the amount spec'ed and no guidance for what to do if it's not enough, nor how to tell, etc. The product comes with special valves with "filters" to keep stuff out of the valve, which are really just a little cap added to the end. They didn't hold air after a day of riding and, worse, I COULDN'T GET THEM OUT of the valve stems without resorting to drastic means, namely pliers to essentially rip them out. They would unscrew, then click back into the stem so the only thing to grab was the plunger tip, but the threads reengaged each time! Final extraction revealed the "filters" to be gone and the tips of the valves to be bent, preventing them from sealing and catching in the threads preventing the valve from coming out. If twice as much as is specified is what's actually required, the expense is not worth the trouble. Now, I'm not sure what to do with the junk in my tires, since I'm not convinced it's doing what it's supposed to and the wheels can no longer be balanced conventionally. Originally, Counteract said I could get a refund without having to return the product. Amazon requests the product back, though, in order to refund the purchase price. Then Counteract customer service was unwilling to do anything about it, finally saying they weren't accepting any responsibility because I had to weigh it out myself. As if. I first used beads on Renaults and Citroens with 3 lug solid disc wheels that I couldn't balance on my balancer. Wow. Super smooth. Since then I've started using them on everything and I'm very happy with them. I should add that I've had an issue with them once. I mounted a new tire on the wheel and went to add the beads through the stem and it clogged right away. Cleared it and tried again: clogged. I took a closer look (some swearing may have taken place) and the stem necked down very small. I didn't have my drill and bits with me so I had to break the bead again and install a new stem. I always check the stems now, and have had no troubles, it was just that one. Once and done for the life of the tire. Oh, and I've fixed flats with no problems, both mushroom plugs and rope plugs. I used to patch from the inside so maybe I've started a bad habit but I've had no problems. ... show more

Most of the time the tire is auto-balanced via these beads. Once in a while I have to slow to under 35mph to redistribute the Itty-Bitty glass beads around. Sometimes hitting a bump will pop these and redistribute, same with ceramics. In near 20 years never had this issue with the round ceramic beads simply ROLL. These round glass beads are very small and don't get past the tires internal cooling ribs but hit a bump they do. Some are oval-ish, 2 or 3 beads stuck together, oversized blobs and rods. These WILL NOT enter through valve stems smoothly or not at all. VERY FRUSTRATING. Although these glass beads did fill through the 90 degree stem I installed (I re-rounded the flattened 90 degree bend) it took A LOT of tapping to keep them moving through said stem. _ODDLY they advertise NOT to put these glass beads in a car tire yet they show a picture of A CAR. (???) . WORTH IT? mmm ya, but I will definitely go back the the ceramics. ... show more

Used for 225/50R17 tires on a small SUV. I figured the low aspect ratio might cause issues but I am happy with the result. Almost no vibration, sometimes Ill get something small but that may just be the road. Will definitely use these in other vehicles!
