I’ve had this plant for a few months now and at first it was struggling: yellowing leaves, crispy ends, and very droopy. I decided to repot and discovered the roots had cages on them. I removed the root cage repotted in the “Foxfarm” potting soil and so far I’ve gotten a lot of new growth and it seems to be thriving. I keep my plant in a low light area and I typically water once a month with fertilizer since it doesn’t get much sun. This plant arrived on a freezing day, but I put it inside about one minute after it was delivered. It was wrapped in paper inside a box, and it had a heating pad wrapped around the pot. The plant looks robust and healthy. It’s much better looking in real life than the online pictures suggest. It is about 15 inches high, and the foliage is thick and healthy, without any dry leaves or unusual spots that would cause concern. The soil was wet on the bottom and in the middle, and dry at the top. It needs to be repotted, but that should (and will) be done after the plant adjusts to my home’s environment, which will take two to four weeks. Right now it is in a mostly sunny area, and I mist it daily and water according to its needs. I will move the plant to a new location one or two weeks after repotting it. I expect this plant to thrive because it arrived in excellent condition. If you buy a plant online, or even locally, be patient with it and give it lots of TLC so it can adjust to your home. Shipping is traumatic to plants, and so is repotting and moving it to a different location in your home. I will update this review of the plant fails to thrive or survive. I ordered this plant and the pot because they matched our decor in our dining room. The plant arrived early but the box was damaged and the pot was broken. I called and the customer service team did a great job fielding my question and solving the issue at hand. Another plant was sent to replace the damaged one, but when it arrived the pot was a completely different color and style.... it didn't match any of our decor. I was unhappy with my purchase and the replacement. I had to purchase another pot to replant into to match our dinning room decor. I bought this plant a while ago, I was unable to leave a review until now. I wanted to order plants for my home, especially plants that naturally clean and filter the air like this one. These are very beautiful plants, so immediately I ordered it. It came in packaged safely and beautifully, I ordered the upgraded flowerpot which in turn is a weaved basket, which isn't meant to hold water, the interior of the weaved baskets was a plastic lining. These plants are not meant to be confined in a plastic lining. When I opened my plant, I immediately noticed this cotton like foam on the dirt. I then watered the plant, the foam went away, and the next day there was triple the amount of the foam! I went to the plant store and they said get it out of that plastic lined basket, as these plants are not meant to be in that. I bought a brand new pot, large enough to fit the plant, I changed the soil, and that didn't help at all, no matter what I did, more of this fungus kept growing, and the plant ended up turning yellow and died. I called Amazon and they said I had to reach out to the grower because this was not under prime and returns were only through the grower whom I purchased it from. I emailed and never received a response. This plant completely died in less than a month. I'm completely disappointed with this purchase. ... show more
