Description

The Aglaonema is an easy-to-grow houseplant with bold, colorful leaves; ideal for tabletops, desks, and shelves. It adds color and texture to any space making it excellent as home decor accent or for gift giving. Water when the top couple inches of the soil are dry (about once a week) and be sure all excess water drains away. If the container does not have holes, use approximately 1 cup of water, adjust as needed for your environment. Do not let the Aglaonema sit in water or overly soggy soil. The height at dispatch is approximately 14 inches tall, measured from the bottom of the pot to the top of the plant. The The Aglaonema is a slow grower depending on its environment and is hardy in USDA Zones 10-11. Give it a boost during the warm months of Spring and Summer with a general-purpose fertilizer that is formulated for house plants. Follow the instructions on the fertilizer package for the best use. When the plant out grows the current container, it is time to repot. To repot the plant, gently remove it from its current container and place it into a slightly larger container. Fill in any empty spaces with new and fresh soil and water thoroughly. Be aware of third-party sellers; other companies try to imitate our quality. There are no other authorized Costa Farms sellers. The plant came neatly packed in a box and wrapped. The only odd thing was the plant roots were put into a nursery pot with a little bit of soil, then the whole thing was wrapped with plastic wrap, and soil was placed on top of that..I wasn't really quite sure why they did that because it caused me to have to take all 3 plants out of the pot, remove the plastic wrap, and then ended up from there just repotting everything into the nicer pot they give you. That all being said, a lot of reviews here have said the roots come caged, however mine did not. The roots and plant all look very healthy and the only real issue with the plant itself is there is a crack in ONE leaf, not a big deal. The size is also really spot on, mine is just about a foot tall, and very lush. I'd say this is huge value considering how much you save on shipping alone (shipping plants isn't cheap but they've definitely figured out a way to do it well enough!) As this is a Chinese Evergreen, the germination rate is relatively slow for these. Overall great quality, and I'll be using Costa Farms again for sure. ... show more

Beautiful and colorful plant. Perfect for table by the window, live in MA. Arrived in pretty good condition, with just some topsoil missing from top of plant. Wish they had included directions for what to do after plant arrived. Do you transplant it then or after a week or month in the pot they provided? (will likely drill some holes in that pot they provided, (could use another pot with holes already in bottom) put a little gravel in as I don't want to overwater and let plant roots get soggy. Guess I will find out what is underneath the plant and dirt soon as will try to repot, fertilize. Added some topsoil after it arrived and watered with plant food. Important!!! A year after getting this plant, it is gorgeous and thriving, but needed repotting. I was shocked to see each of the three stalks were planted in a tiny 2-inch nursery pot underneath the soil. The roots were completely intertwined and I had to cut the pots away as delicately as I could. I'm hoping the plant survives such a traumatic repotting, but I wish someone had told me to get those nursery pots out right away. It's possible my plant was an anomaly and those weren't supposed to be there, but definitely check! Otherwise, amazing plant and Costa Farms is an amazing company! The plant arrived in excellent condition and was full, healthy, and about 18" tall from the top of the soil to the tip of the tallest leaf. The soil was moist when it arrived and the plant continues to thrive. Before getting it, I really wasn't a plant person and I'm thankful for how easy this plant is to take care of. Even with its roots smashed into three tiny nursery pots, it is still healthy and growing. Highly recommend! ... show more

Very happy with this purchase. The plant arrived looking healthy with moist soil and a beautiful color. Good size and the decorative pot is plastic but nice looking. The package could have been a little better to stabilize the plant more. However, even if the packaging was damaged, the plant wasn't damaged. The price is a little high compared to a local nursery or even Costco, but overall happy with the purchase. ... show more

When this plant came it was beautiful....on the outside. Once I let the plant acclimate I took off the cling wrap only to notice the roots were popping out of the pot. Oh well, I thought, I will just repot it as I love repotting plants. When I went to lift the plant out of the pot I noticed something hard against my hand. Swept a little of the moss away and saw it was a mesh pot used in hydropoincs for growing cuttings. Hmmm, that's weird, I thought. Must have been a mistake. Nope, it wasn't just one mesh pot. But 3 mesh pots in the container. One for each of the plants. I don't know about you, but I see a major problem with that. For one, the roots have grown thru the mesh pots and I will never be able to remove them without cutting the roots. Secondly, while the roots are healthy and large, cutting all of them as I will have to do to remove the mesh pots, could possibly put the plant in shock and kill it. As happy as I was when I received it and looked at its outer beauty, I am 10x's more disappointed in the undercarriage of the plant as this is the most crucial part that sustains its life. ... show more

Plant came in perfect condition. Very strong root system, came early before the original delivery date. I saw reviews that lots of people had nursery cages on the roots and had to carefully cut them out, so as soon as I got it began the repotting process and to my surprise I didn’t receive one with any of those cages. Just nice strong roots with zero rotting. The plant is well established and healthy. If it dies it will be 100% on me and not the seller as I received a perfect plant. I did remove the inner pot it came with and just placed it in the nicer pot they give you. It’s a little bigger than the inner pot it was in and with how many roots there are it seemed like it would benefit from going up a little in size to provide more room for root growth ... show more

(Straight out of the box pics) First, we gotta talk about the packaging My plant arrived in a long thin box, and the base was securely wrapped in serán wrap to keep the dirt in. The box was tipped and undoubtedly thrown around, but the packaging was so good, there was no spilled dirt. There was also wrapping craft paper which allowed me to pull the plant straight out of the box without spillage or breakage. I just can't get enough of their packaging, it was a thing of beauty. The plant itself is healthy looking and well presented. It can be gifted right our of the box, that's how pretty it is. It's also small enough for me not to feel intimidated. I'm a beginner plant-parent, and I hope I do well. I'm currently trying to nurse an aloe plant back to health, so hopefully the presence of this new friend will help it regain the will to live. Overall, I am very happy. Would buy more, but I live in a tiny apartment with no balcony, so that's all I can fit on my windowsill for now. **Update** So, a few hours after posting my original review, I noticed other customers reporting little plastic cages around the plants roots, so I decided to transplant right then and there so that I could check. And lo and behold, there were plastic thingies around the roots. They were probably used to grow then, but it was definitely a surprise to find them still there. So, just be aware; if you're plant starts to look stunted, or starts to die after a few months, check the roots. I had to extract them out with surgical shears because I was afraid to cut a root. But it turned out great. Maybe Costa Farms should put a little notice on the box somewhere, that the plant comes with little plastic sandals for them to grow into, so that clients can know that they will have to cut them out sooner rather than later. She is absolutely beautiful. Very easy to maintain and grows into the most Lucious looking plant. She grows at a pretty decent rate I have had her for two years now.
