I have multiple pairs of Costa sunglasses everywhere. Two in my truck, one in the wife's, one in my boat, another I use for fishing, another pair for the beach, one for around the house. Got in the wife's vehicle and I pulled out my oldest pair I have that are in there and after 7 or 8 years the rubber side fell off. Oh well they will become back up glasses on the boat. Ordered this pair for my truck and took the ones in there and tossed in her car. I have tried different lenses and again these are one of my favorites for cutting down the glare. I like them all but these are without a doubt my absolute favorite. The fit is great and they seem heavier than most all of my other pairs. The pair I got have glass lenses but all my other pairs except one have glass lenses as well. Really happy with these. ... show more

Glass lens what is the deciding factor on these? They are very clear a little darker than I like, but they’re fine. I would like to get a pair that I could wear in the evening. It would be nice if Costa brand actually had some for evening driving and not be mirrored

    • Plastic/poly lens Costas are pure junk, go with Peppers or Oakley.

Pay up for the “glass” lenses or completely skip Costa altogether. For the models with the poly lenses 3/4+ of the $ these very avg sunglasses cost is paying for the brand label only. Just used these on a week and a half trip that found me fishing the upper Chatahoochie and lake Lanier, followed by inshore and surf fishing in Fl. The poly/plastic lenses are much too dark for fishing under a tree canopy but not nearly dark enough to keep you from squinting and shielding your eyes on the beach in full sun. They feel like very cheap plastic Chinese junk, the kind you’d get out of a gumball machine. Lens quality is no better than any other $40-$75 dollar cheapies I’ve bought in the last 2 decades. Edges aren’t sharp, not dark enough for bright light, too dark for fishing in partially shaded areas. I ran right back to my buddy after the trip, who convinced me to betray my wallet and give costa a try. He had the Reeftons (glass) and Tailfin?(poly) both in blue lenses. The glass were awesome, the poly was immediately confirmed to be inferior and a total scam. Couldn’t be more disappointed with this purchase. Wish I had the nerve to return this junk after the initial use/trial. I’ll be sticking with “Peppers” brand in the future, with arguably better lens clarity and discernible definition at 25% cost, or Oakley if I want real glass. ... show more
