Do some research on Costa's website. As it turns out, the green lenses are specifically for seeing deep into the water while fishing. The clarity and contrast are unparalleled, but for daily use, in the city, it was still way too bright in bright sunlight. I found myself squinting with how bright they are. Minus one star only because I think there should be a better description on the ad for specific purposes for specific lenses. I'm returning these in order to get the grey lenses. Also, I took these down to the sporting goods store and compared them with the ones they have in the case. They are identical. To those that call them counterfeit, I don't see how you came to that conclusion. If you dig around enough, you can find that Amazon really is an authorized seller for Costa Del Mar. Just make sure that you purchase items "Sold by Amazon", and "Shipped by Amazon." ... show more

I've owned Costa's for years now, I've owned at least 9 pairs. These Fantail 580G Pro's are the Best of the Costa's as far as I am concerned the upgrade from the normal Fantails is noticeable. If your hesitant about pulling the trigger don't be. You'll be pleasantly surprised. I like the holes in the earpiece, I bought the Costa C-Mono Gripper retainers and they hook on so you won't loose them . I am very pleased with the product . The clarity is unbelievable, they hug your head securely and they fit perfect for me. The detail and workmanship on the Costa glasses is amazing. They are worth the price. Packaging, documentation, glasses themselves all seem authentic. They are glass lenses and appear to be of good quality, but some minor knicks on the frame and the price lead me to think these are factory seconds. Not enough to want to return. We'll see what Costa says if/when I need any warranty work ... show more

They seem much lighter than the original Fantail. Very little light comes through the frames when they are pushed all the way up to your face. My only complaint is the nose piece - it seems to bend to easy. No worries though, you can bend it right back into place. Overall very satisfied with my purchase. I now have 3 pairs of Costa’s. Fantail Pro in copper silver and green copper mirror and Tuna Alley in green copper mirror. Both lens colors are very close in overall tint and contrast. As far as which to buy I’d tell you to get whatever you like and what is on sale. Definitely go with the 580g lens. Tried my wife’s Coach sunglasses on for the fun of it the other day and they are not even in the same league as these. Had Maui Jim before also and again not even close. I was a little apprehensive to get the fantail “pro” model instead of replacing my tried and true “plain” fantails. Well, these exceeded my expectations in every way! Not only do the frames feel more substantial and durable, they also offer even more protection over the corners of my eyes... all without feeling any heavier on my face. Of course these have the same 580g polarized lenses and strategic rubber padding n the frames that make Costas some of the best sunglasses on the market!
