I purchased this to use as extended internal storage in my PlayStation 5. If you didn't already know, there's a secondary slot in the PS5 that allows you to insert a compatible M.2 SSD to use as additional storage. However, the PS5 is VERY finicky about what drives it likes. Some of the highest performance, big name M.2s on the market will not work with the PS5. (I learned the hard way.) This drive is the 22x60 size format. This drive comes with a heat sink already attached, so if using in a PS5, you do not have to purchase a separate heat sink. Note that if you are planning to use this in an external enclosure or in some other device, you will want to check that device's specifications to determine whether this drive will fit because of the heat sink adding significant depth to the dimensions. This SSD was listed on multiple sites as being PS5 compatible, and it is. I have successfully installed it and am using it to increase the internal capacity of my console. Considering how huge the games are these days (RDR2 is 113GB, for example), if you are an avid gamer then you will want to up your storage capacity. This drive gives great performance in the PS5. My PS5 showed this drive as having a 6,350 Mbps transfer rate capability. (For comparison, I think the primary drive that came with the PS5 only does 5,500 Mbps.) This is a great M.2 SSD for PS5, and will likely give great service in many other applications. Again, just be sure the physical dimensions of this drive will allow it to fit in your device. The attached heat sink might impact situations where you have tight clearances.

Im sure this works great on pc too but I’ve only tried it on ps5 so I’ll review that part of it. No issues with install except those caused by me having never installed an ssd, at the very least as fast the ps5 ssd and almost certainly substantially faster, and it’s storage space has allowed me it download all the ps5 games I want. Also 200 bucks for a super fast 1tb ssd is about the best value you can get. No complaints and with it being one of the best ssds for one of the best prices it earns a five star from me.

I just received my Corsair MP600 PRO LPX today and the packaging was done very well. Simple but quality secure of the ssd. I then begin to take off the faceplate (disc side up) and used a small phillip screwdriver to open the ssd slot. Once inside, I unscrewed the screw that's in place of the "100" spot and removed the spacer ring as well. You have to put the spacer ring down to the "80" spot 1st. Once you do that, you gently slide the Corsair MP600 PRO LPX into the slot (you will hear a click to let you know its installed properly). 3rd, put the screw you took from the "100" spot and screw down the ssd into the "80" spot (it will line up automatically if you installed it correctly, very simple to do). Once you do that, just replace your faceplates and this is where the fun begins! Once u turn on your PS5, you will be prompted to format the ssd. Click format. BAMM! your done! Go to your storage and download a Call of Duty Cold War game (or a huge game) and you won't believe your eyes. It took less than 1minute and a half to download almost 200GB!!! My mind began to go into denial. This was beyond unreal to see this happening! This Corsair MP600 PRO LPX has undervalued itself because the read speeds were way beyond what is being advertised! It literally clocks in at 6800MB/s! Plz, if you ever wanted to do something right for yourself for once in your life, I beg all of you to buy this Corsair MP600 PRO LPX. Not only will you be blown away from the read speeds and download speeds of your games, when you actually play your games, there will be absolutely no loading on any game you play. Its literally instantaneous throughout your gaming sessions! 0 loading! ZERO LOADING!!! Last but not least, the ssd has a lowprofile built-in heatsink and it will stay very cool while gaming for hours on end. It will not hot throttle either because of the high end NAN TECH that's built into this little super giant of a ssd. My mind is blown beyond anything I could ever imagine and Corsair has made a me a believer in their products, quality, pricing and warranty. YES, you also get a 5 year protection warranty of the product. This will be the best ssd you ever bought for your PS5 and you will thank yourself later for listening to a tech enthusiast such as myself. This was my 1st time ever upgrading storage for any console I've ever owned and by God, this was the best decision I have ever made for my gaming lifestyle! You cannot lose with the purchase of the Corsair MP600 PRO LPX. You can only do yourself a HUGE disservice by allowing yourself to pass up on the juggernaut ssd for your PS5!
