There seems to be a lot of debris. Moving it at all, even taking it out of the box, causes pieces to flake off. I covered mine with fabric so it was fine but not sure if I would be happy with it as a stand alone product.

I put this 1" thick cork board up on the wall over my sewing machine. It's perfect for tacking up pattern instructions, supplies that come on hanging cards, and other miscellany. I use giant thumb tacks along the bottom and hang all my scissors on them. I really like the fact that it's so sturdy and thick; I can use any size tack on it. I bought this 1/2 inch cork to serve as a sound barrier in my bedroom window because my next door neighbor installed a noisy heater/air conditioner outdoor unit about 10 feet from my window. The cork is easy to cut down to size with just a kitchen knife. It came with sticky clear adhesive that I hope will stick a long time. The adhesive comes in strips and can be stretched to fit the surface. I am happy that I can finally get a good night's sleep with this product. Thank you! ... show more
