I put these on the inside of my kitchen cupboards to hold some of the many notes that used to get stuck on the outside of the fridge, phone numbers, frequently used recipes, etc. They were easy to put up and I like the thickness of the cork. Push pins work quite well. I did purchase some to do the same at my son's house, but the shelves in his cupboards were not recessed enough for the doors to close. I wanted cork above my computer counter in my office. There was going to be almost 24 square feet of surface. Rolled cork was WAY too thin and "dark" stained cork was as well. Plus all the reviews on dark cork spoke about how brittle it was, how it smelled, and how it left dark stains all over everything. After shopping around I bought this 1/2" thick cork and stained it. It takes a good amount of stain to soak in, but it worked beautifully! One can see before and after photos. They were very easy to install. It has now been up for almost three months. I am noticing that a few of them are coming "unstuck" so I may have to put stronger adhesion on the back. I have also noticed that they have shrunk slightly and so the gaps between them have grown slightly larger. This would not be an issue for most, but it is exposing lighter cork that did not get stain. I will touch up those areas a little later. ... show more

Beware - these are neither 12x12 nor 1/2" think. They are 11-3/4x11-3/4 and thinner than 1/2". Don't plan on mixing them with the adhesive version and be aware of the smaller size when laying out your installation.

I purchased this pack of 4 12 x 12 cork boards to adhere to the top of my chest freezer. I live in an apartment and wanted to find something that would transform my chest freezer into a piece of furniture as much as possible. I previously has covered my freezer with a table cloth but I really didn't like the way it looked so I decided to adhere these squares on to the top of my freezer. It not only transformed the look of my freezer but also, the cork protects the top of my freezer from scratches if I place anything on top of it. I also want to add, the cork itself was fairly easy to cut straight as long as you continue to work on the score line. The court adheres very strongly which I was very happy about! ...cuz the adhesive *ain't* gonna hold. The adhesive seems initially strong (misalignment don't want to shift). But the panels 'cup'/'curl' away from the mounted surface, visibly after the first night. And, on the floor in a pile, on day 2. I ordered 9/16" screws https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000H6GTMU (using 'em on a computer armoire door), before even putting them up. Knew from the reviews they wouldn't stick. Just figured they'd stay up long enough to get screws into them. 🤦♂️ Quality seems fine. I cut em down to 7-3/4" widths for the door they're going on - exactly as you cut foamcore: using a steel rule, some clamps, and a sharp utility knife, with 3-4 increasing depth cuts. Update: The 9/16" truss screws worked great: just long enough to pass thru the cork and anchor into the panel on my computer armoire, wo penetrating the other side of the door (pic added) ... show more
