The flow had really slowed. There was an amber rod with about an inch left. I had added a clear rod but it was not advancing. I changed batteries to be sure the power of sufficient, allowed adequate time for heating--pumped the trigger multiple times, put pressure on the newer rod that the trigger propels forward to advance the rods into the heat chamber. Nothing. Stopped dead. I took a pair of needle nose pliers and grabbed the exposed end of the amber rod and tugged it out. I advanced the clear rod that was behind it forward and it began producing a good flow again. All I can surmise is the amber rods can have a problem. I'd used the black and clear with no problems. So I suggest you avoid the amber rods. And it it stops flowing--remove the rod from the heat chamber with pliers and start over. ... show more

Just received this unit and used it for the first time. Did a great job of heating up and did not drip at all when I stopped pulling the trigger. Included is a nice batch of glue sticks. The light near the base helps to illuminate your work and the Mikita battery slipped right on without any issue.

This is pretty impressive! I have a mini hot glue gun already, but sometimes it just can’t keep up with the projects. First, remember to make sure you have a battery that will work in it! I didn’t realize mine wouldn’t work until I got the glue gun. Luckily, my friend had a battery I could use. The glue stick is held securely in place by a black ring in the glue gun. The glue gun does get really hot and further back than what you would expect, so be careful! Once warmed, the glue comes out in nice lines. ... show more
