This lightweight random orbital polisher is a nice & inexpensive tool to keep your car and household looking nice and polished. For the house it can be used to clean and polish your granite or marble countertops and it can be used for light sanding jobs throughout (you can use standard 6" hook & loop (aka Velcro) sanding discs for this purpose). I used it to sand down some drywall compound patches on the ceiling, which was much easier to do vs. sanding with a block by hand. For your car it is used to compound, wax, and polish your car's finish. The polisher has a smooth, variable speed adjustment to accommodate your polishing needs. Mine came with a single battery which charged to full in 30 minutes out of the box. I do wish it came with a 2nd battery since the single battery is not capable of cutting, waxing, buffing, and polishing my cars in one charge. I also wish the grab handle at the top was a bit longer to enable me to grasp it to maintain control of it while in use. The battery is unique to this tool so unless the manufacturer offers them for sale separately you are out of luck in obtaining a 2nd one, which would then require you to pause your work for an hour+ while the battery charges, and would render the tool totally useless if the battery ever fails. The polisher comes with: - One 2,000 grit sanding disc (which can be used to restore your yellowed headlights), - 1 orange waffle foam pad (for buffing/polishing with liquid wax or polish ), - 1 smooth orange foam buffing pad (for cutting w compounds), - 1 white terry cloth pad (for applying wax), - 1 white "large grain" pad (to remove wax/polish that was just applied), - 3 blue terry cloth pads which can be used for buffing, and - 1 rough face-mask like material pad. I would think the last pad is for heavy duty cutting due to its very abrasive nature and would be appropriate on only very neglected surfaces. As for the use of this or any other polisher, do not put any downward pressure on the tool when using it as this could result in excessive heat build up and swirl or even burn marks on your clearcoat or paint. Overall this is a nice, lightweight polisher/buffer for the occasional detail of your vehicle, for light sanding jobs, and for polishing stone & other durable surfaces in your home. So it functions fine. Not terribly powerful - but you shouldn't expect to buff a car with a cordless 12V tool. This isn't the tool for compounding/buffing an entire car - but it will apply a quick coat of wax - and *might* even buff off that wax on one battery charge. Speed control works fine. Hook/loop connection of pads is fine. Ergonomics are good. My two gripes are battery life - and battery style: I don't think this little battery lasts as long as a similarly sized 12V battery from DeWalt or Milwaukee. That's not terribly surprising considering the price point of this product - but it's still a bit disappointing. Secondly - why in the WORLD would they design a proprietary-fit battery? The battery is SO similar to the 12V Milwaukee battery - they should have made it interchangeable. This product would be WAY MORE BETTER if you could slap Milwaukee batteries into it. ... show more

This cordless buffer/polisher is actually pretty nice! It charged quickly and held its charge for a long time. It comes with multiple heads and is powerful yet light in weight. It is perfect for buffing and polishing cars. Additionally, it has other uses, such as cleaning glass-enclosed showers. The media could not be loaded. This is a good basic buffer for the DIYer. Would not buy if you're using professionally. My initial impression - this is a great product especially at the sales price - remember you usually get what you pay for. After using several times, I'm not sure about its longevity and capability if you need it to perform high intensity jobs. First issue - the instructions are of limited value - it does not give you necessary info re: the different pads - the uses or limitations. The battery life initially is pretty good but my experience when purchasing an item at a low price point these features i.e. battery life, will be disappointing after a relative short period of time. At the very least, I purchased this item knowing these potential short comings but it is allowing me to gain experience in learning how to correctly detail a car using a buffer and its associated equipment. BTW, I've been using YouTube videos in helping me learn the correct techniques operating a buffer in car detailing. Overall, as an entry point buffer, it's really good, but do not have any extraordinary expectations this device will be last forever or do every job you can think of without some limitations. I love the convenience of cordless. This is lightweight and easy to handle. There is a pad for most every job included. I have not used it as a polisher, but it did a great job light sanding a cabinet I repainted. There was still plenty of battery life left when I finished and it recharges fairly quickly. I recently brought out a car from storage, and this is the perfect way to get a good couple coats of wax on the vehicle before winter hits here in the midwest without a lot of hard rubbing. I was able to get two coats on in less than half the time it would take me to do it by hand. I only wish the batteries were a bit longer lasting, but it's something I can work around. I'm not sure what all the pads are for, it really doesn't give direction, but they are decent pads and will last awhile. ... show more
