We use this to catch bugs, and to skim bugs out of the backyard kiddie pool. It's great for both those uses, but it does flex quite a bit when fully extended and dragging through the water, so I can't imagine it's very sturdy for actual water use, like catching fish or anything like that. Our little fisherman spent a lot of time at the lake this year, and he wanted to try and catch fish in a net (no luck on that front). These were a big hit, and allowed him to share with friends. The only downside is that, especially when the telescoping pole is extended, these are pretty flimsy/prone to breaking. We used the 5 nets a lot in the course of a little over a month, and only had one break. Otherwise they worked well, and were a big hit with the kiddos. ... show more

Purchased two packs to bring on a beach vacation for the kids to catch sand crabs with. They started breaking on day one, abs by the end of vacation I don’t think there were any left to bring home.
