. I originally ordered this electronic drum kit because I wanted something compact enough for a cozy space. I needed something where I could keep up with workouts and work through ideas without dedicating a large amount of floor space to a full setup. What arrived exceeded my expectations. Not that my expectations where at Debbie Downer level. I didn't expect something with such heavier hardware and good plastic housing with obvious quality manufacturing. Sorry, but full disclosure - even I get bit by fat promises sometimes. Yet, I was so pleasantly surprised by this set !! This is clearly positioned as a value oriented electronic drum set, but the quality is considerably better than I expected for its place in the market. The rack feels more substantial than the listing photos suggest, and the entire package has a reassuring amount of weight to it once assembled. When it arrived on my porch in a not so big box upon delivery, I committed a classic comedy gag from the silent era of movies. I grabbed it to quickly pick it up, but it fought back with sheer weight, and I did a little Buster Keaton in the front lawn at no charge to the neighbors. Just saying. The mesh snare is particularly enjoyable to play, providing a much more realistic experience than simple practice pads. While it is not intended to compete with professional flagship electronic kits costing many times more, it absolutely succeeds at what it was designed to do. For practice, it is a huge step above tapping on pads alone. Having actual drum voices, cymbals, kick pedal, and a complete layout encourages longer practice sessions and makes working on coordination exercises far more enjoyable. I also found it useful as a quick idea machine. Sometimes I simply want to demonstrate a rhythm, work out an arrangement concept, or communicate a groove to someone without loosing the flow, fumbling with gear. This kit makes that easy. What impressed me most is that it never feels like a toy. The playing experience is engaging enough that you quickly forget the modest price point and simply enjoy making music. I can especially see this being inspirational for younger players or beginners. There is something motivating about sitting behind a complete drum set, even a compact one, that encourages exploration and creativity. Overall, this is an excellent value that delivers far more than I expected. It is compact, practical, surprisingly solid, useful for practice and idea development, and most importantly, a lot of fun to play. For my purposes, it has proven to be a worthwhile addition to the music room.

This electronic drum kit is a lot of fun and surprisingly easy to set up. The rack assembly was straightforward and everything connected without much trouble. As a parent of three kids and someone who knows enough about drums to have fun without claiming to be a pro, this electronic drum kit has been a great addition to our house. The COOLMUSIC DD4 Eight Piece Electronic Drum Kit combines easy assembly, clean onboard sounds, quiet practice options, USB/MIDI connectivity, and a practical recording-friendly design that makes it especially useful for home musicians, songwriters, and players who want drums without the noise and space demands of an acoustic kit. Nevertheless, this is still an entry-level electronic drum kit with a mixed mesh-and-rubber pad setup, a newer product track record, and some limitations that more advanced drummers will notice over time. This kit was ordered because I wanted a cost-effective way to play drums along with my old recorded songs and potentially record those drum parts at the same time. That matters a lot to me because I have songs I wrote more than thirty years ago, and being able to rethink the drum parts now opens up an entirely new creative lane. Instead of only imagining what those old songs could become, I can now sit down, play along, experiment with different grooves, and start rebuilding arrangements in a much more hands-on way. The overall experience has been very strong. Firstly, if you have any questions on whether to get this, READ THIS FIRST. Watch the jnboxing and demo video I've posted. It will answer a lot of your questikns/concerns. This is a SOLID functional, durable silent digital drum set suitable for beginning players or more. I would say it's more for younger players that are smaller than seasoned advanced full grown. If it's for enthusiast then go for it. The QUALITY IS THERE. Once we got all the pieces unpacked, I first tested the module for power before taking everything out. It's a lot and it IS HEAVY. I also made sure ALL the pieces were accounted for. The frame for this thing is at the very bottom and it's so easy to put together. The kit includes a standard DRUM KEY and that's all you'll need (except for the bass drum head, you need a phillips to remove plastic). In putting it together, be sure you know what piece goes in what section. No here is where I had to deduct 1/2 a star.... there is NO MANUAL or instructions included. We had to go to the listing and look at the photos of set up and find and online "manual". Be sure you know when plugging into the module and running the power cords that there are 3 TOM cords but only 2 TOMS. YOU WILL HAVE AN EXTRA CORD. I was alarmed at first thinking I set things wrong or they didn't pack it but in the ONLINE manual it says this is how they come in case you want to expand the kit. Okay, so when you get everytjing in it's place, pay attention to the BLUE label on the ends of the wires or you won't get sound to the parts. *see video/photos. The little blue label near the plug end of the chord in TEXT to correspond to the proper matching cymbal, Tom, snare, etc. We had randomly plugged in and had to sort out after because we didn't notice at first. Once every thing is situated and plugged in, the include 2 velcro to gather and keep cords neatly tucked in. THERE IS NO SEAT. However there are included drum sticks, but you're definitely wanting to use your own or get some. These things feel like cardboard compared to my regular drumsticks and I am not a drummer. I'm a Bass player but had to learn rudimentary drums in Conservatory and in the Marines for marching. So I know how to bang a drum and I can doa mean drum roll and paradiddle. This is EXCELLENT VALUE. The PEDALS on this for high hat and bass drum kick are solid metal not plastic and work and feel like a regular drum set. You can raise up the set as you need to make it all comfortable for your height and we just used my CAJON DRUM as a seat for now. We had so much fun. In the video I had it plugged into a tiny external CoolMusic guitar amp so we could hear sound. We now have headphones plugged in. My non- musical hubby had fun banging away for a while and not feeling embarrassed or bothering the rest of the house. The CONS: The KICK DRUM is the downfall here of the kit I have to say. When we installed the kick, to the drum (everything is screwed together) the beater head is so far to the right to not be in center. The other issue is the sound coming out of the kick drum is not that great compared to the other drums heads. That was disappointing so I took another 1/2 star off for that. Another CON is not including a user manual for the MODULE!!! All we've been doing is pushing buttons trying to figure it out. It's not that intuitive. I was looking for the setting for the snare rim to get sound out of it and I still don't know how to do it. So now I have to spend time to find an online manual for the kit. The least they could have done is included a link to get to a proper online user manual for this kit model. Otherwise, have fun with this! It's a winner and CoolMusic does put out some pretty good solid musical accessories as a brand. 4 thumbs up!

Obviously this isn't a professional electronic drum set but it still very capable. It is well made and includes a full range of drums. The pads are responsive and the controller has a wide range of drum types and sounds and also accompaniments. You can expand the set's capabilities using USB and midi connections. It has an auxiliary output to connect to an amplifier and a headphone jack so you can practice in silence. It sets up easily and is adjustable to set it exactly how it suits you. Everything you need to get started is included except for a throne (seat).
