Perfect for Sunny Climate - Keeps you cool while protecting your skin
Color: Coolibar Blue
Size: One Size
I love this umbrella. This is the second one I've purchased. I still use the first one I purchased about 12 years ago, but it is silver and is starting to look a little "tired" . When I saw this umbrella in blue, I thought it was so pretty that I decided to treat myself to a new one. As a resident in San Diego, we have many sunny days, and the UV rating gets higher all the time. As a fair skinned person, I take UV protection very seriously. I've tried UV rated clothing, but always felt so uncomfortable due to the type of material used to create the UV protection. They claim to be "wicking" but that doesn't reduce the warmth I feel. The same goes for wearing a hat. It's just too uncomfortable since all my heat escapes through my head, not to mention how it "flattens" my hair. Using this umbrella makes the heat and sun very bearable as I walk to the gym or run errands each day, and I can wear sleeveless tank tops without concern for the sun. Of course, I've been doing this for years so I'm used to the odd looks I get sometimes, but most people say, "what a great idea." I noticed that some reviews complain about the weight of the umbrella since it is considered a travel umbrella. This weight is caused by the thickness of the spines, which is what makes it such a quality umbrella. But holding it in position has never felt uncomfortable to me at all. This sturdiness is really helpful on windy days. On very windy days I have had it turn inside out, but I just turned the umbrella to face the opposite direction and it reverted back to its original shape. I have since learned how to hold the umbrella so that the dome faces the wind, and it won't turn inside out. However, this happens only on extremely windy days. As far as comfort goes, I once went to a store opening event and upon arrival saw the the line to get in was long and shade was limited; most people were standing in the sun. I did not have my UV umbrella with me, so I grabbed the small black rain umbrella I keep in the car. As I stood in line, I felt the heat despite of the shade that the umbrella provided. It was stifling! That is the problem with regular umbrellas since they don't reflect the sun so you get heated while using them. The Coolibar umbrella stays cool underneath and is very comfortable. I think the $49 price of Coolibar's umbrella is reasonable for the quality. I paid the same price 12 years ago, and in the case of umbrellas, you definitely get what you pay for. I highly recommend this umbrella for anyone who is concerned about UV rays and being comfortable in the sun.

Perfect sun solution.
Color: Gold /Aqua Metallic
Size: One Size
Bought this to take on vacation to Sedona. I am fair skinned and tend to burn easily. This was the perfect solution to keep me from getting sunburned without the sticky mess of sunscreen. It is lightweight and easy to carry. The color is perfect for summer and the gold gives it some style. Everything Coolibar sells is high quality.

Best Sun-brella Protection!
Color: Silver
Size: One Size
Excellent protection from sun, perfect size for everyday use. Opens easily with the push of a button; closes easily with push of a button then by pushing down on partially closed umbrella. Highly recommend - (looks great too!)

Can’t stand up to even a mild breeze. Don’t bother.
Color: Silver
Size: One Size
No idea how well it functions to block the sun seeing as how it inverted immediately upon its first use in a mild breeze. This ABSOLUTELY will NOT hold up against any sort of proper wind, especially the kind of wind you’d encounter at the beach. The size is fine. It’s smaller which is nice — small in the same way a mini travel umbrella is small. It covers just enough but isn’t cumbersome. It opens and closes easy enough - just like any other umbrella. However, the spokes do not seem very stable or durable and, as I’ve stated, it cannot withstand any breeze or wind. I looked ridiculous trying to use it. I opened it, immediately inverted. I tried again, immediately inverted. Tried a third time, immediately inverted and I just threw it aside. Do. Not. Bother. It sucks because I can’t just wear a hat either. I’ve got a huge noggin for some reason so hats don’t fit. I really wanted this to work out but it didn’t.

Great product! Just wish it were a little more durable.
Color: Silver
Size: One Size
I live in Arizona, and have a 20-minute walk into work every morning. I use this umbrella every day and it does its job well. It really does feel cooler when I walk under it -- this can make the walk in to work bearable when it's 100+ outside (whereas my regular rain umbrella does not). And more importantly, it seems to be very effective at shielding my skin from the sun. I'm fair-skinned and paranoid about cancer, and I feel very protected when I walk under my Coolibar. Two caveats. (1) This umbrella is thick and bulky and harder to fold up than a normal umbrella -- you kind of have to muscle it. It comes in a little sheath and I've never once been able to get mine back into the sheath. (2) It only lasts so long. My first one lasted about two years of consistent but gentle use before starting to fall apart; I managed to get a third, limping year out of it. I've just received my second one -- so, it was worth ordering again, but it would be nice if it lasted longer.

Beat the heat with Coolibar’s cool (and cooling) umbrella!
Color: Black
Size: One Size
I was given this item to review. This Coolibar sun shade umbrella made taking a walk in the sun a pleasure. It is the size of a regular rain umbrella so easy to handle. You slip off the cover and push the button on the handle to unfold the umbrella (don’t do this in the house!). Pulling the stem and attached ribs folds the umbrella up. As summers get hotter, a sun umbrella becomes a necessity. This well made umbrella should last for quite a while making shade for you when there seems to be none outside.

Why are people complaining??
Color: Light Rose
Size: One Size
I don’t know what people are complaining about. High quality UPF 50+ protection umbrella. No heavier than a regular umbrella, the handle is nice with a coating to help with grip. Came in its own protective case. Had a normal production smell that’s not overpowering and will dissipate once the umbrella has been opened and used some. Easy to open, easy to close. This is a great addition to cut down on sun exposure and the FL heat. I would definitely buy it again.

Practical and tasteful!! Get one you won't regret it.
Color: Silver
Size: One Size
I love my Coolibar umbrella! I could not wait to get it out of the box and immediately use it on my long walk to the market. I started carrying an umbrella/parasol a couple of years ago, in addition to wearing a wide-brimmed straw hat Since then I have seen a few others pick up on this sensible idea. Most of the others were Asian woman. I was so glad to find this Coolibar titanium umbrella that had UV protection in a portable size. Not only is it convenient, it is not too heavy, and looks smart with every possible outfit. I also like the hunter green lining. Reminds me of the traditional dark green porch and beach umbrellas that I remember fondly from my childhood. This umbrella is chic, practical and makes a statement that you are an intelligent self-protective person. I love carrying it. It keeps me cool under a blazing hot southern sun. It stores easily it its own case and fits nicely into a tote bag when indoors.
