We needed something that was not too dressy, but still elegant. He often wears a medium, but for concern about boxiness, I ordered in a small and it fits very well. The medium probably would have worked. Could have been a tad bit longer, but not really a problem. Overall, very pleased -- but more importantly, he is! He loved it! My son is tall and skinny (about 6’ 1” and a lean 160lbs) with a regular size torso, and I’m glad I went with a small (he’s usually a medium in regular clothing). These vests do run a little big width wise because my son was still tightening the strap in the back. Even length wise they could be a tiny bit longer just for the tall people. I like more formal clothing, like suits, to fit well (no bagginess on the sides). I was a little worried about it being too short which it is just a tiny bit, but put the jacket on and it’s not noticeable. I think it looks nice without a jacket too. The material is the same front and back. After he got it, we learned a lot researching the right fit, and still satisfied with purchased. Also learned bottom button is supposed to always be undone (oops in the photo ;)). It ironed nicely too. Overall mom did well! ... show more

I'm not quite as impressed by this vest as I was by previous purchases of vests from this company. It's got the snazz and panach, but not quite the fit or the practicality. On the other hand, I got quite a few compliments on it, and it's certainly a respectable product regardless. I wouldn't return it, but I am withholding a star because my standards for Coofandy are a little higher than for other clothing merchants. This is a six-button, four-pocket vest of navy blue, supposedly "slim fit" but perhaps not quite as snug as others I have bought in the L size. I'm a 42 Regular, in respectable shape, and I like to play my vests reasonably close to, well, the vest (coughs), so I was just slightly dissatisfied with the fit, although the tightener in the back is of some use. Another small drawback: when I rock a vest, I wear a pocket watch and a chain, and I found two of the pockets to be false and the other two to only barely be large enough to accomodate a watch, and that with some doing -- I worried about tearing the inside fabric. This is a departure from other models by Coofandy, which easily accomodate watch and chain. Nor is there any breast pocket, even a false one, which I also consider a slight minus. On the other hand, the vest is comfortable and undeniably looks good. I have six vests, five of which I bought from Coofandy, and not all of them drew praise from female co-workers, but this one did. It does not have to be dry cleaned, either, it can be hand washed and flat drip-dried and lightly ironed. Now, I realize this review is a bit nitpicky, or perhaps more than a bit, but the first four vests I bought I rated perfect and I feel this one is "merely" good. If you don't wear a pocket watch with your vests, or just wear a chain, some of my criticisms won't apply. ... show more

This is exactly like a vest I'd get for $70+ at any retail store. You can tell it doesn't have thicker material or extra tough stitching like some fancy vests do. But honestly if you're just wearing it and not mud wrestling this vest looks great and will last a while.

Great looking vest, but the seams are extremely easy to tear and though not important in the overall outer appearance, the inner seams are very poorly done and uneven. Be extra careful when putting on and taking off the vest as the seam over the right shoulder on mine tore halfway through the length of the seam with only a very slight tug when taking off the vest. It's a easy fix for even a novice; it's just a big inconvenience. Compared to the prices of vests in the store, however, for less than $30 I really can't complain too much. The saying "you get what you pay for" is extremely true for this! Looks great when on and no other complaints, and I do recommend these! ***Also, please make sure you take note that this is a "slim fit" vest. I sadly failed to notice that as it states it in the title but does not state it anywhere else and definitely does not emphasize it. The measurements provided were accurate and seemed to match my size, but it doesn't take into account for people with a "belly". There's no measurement for the belly area, so if you are like me and have a little chunk, beware as you will have issues fitting into this. You might want to go a size higher than your measurements. I am not giving any less stars for that as it us purely my fault, however I do wish it was emphasized a little better. I was able to modify this to fit me with some help and by cutting out some scraps from my graduation gown to sew into the seams, which is fortunately the exact same color. so I got very fortunate, and it looks pretty good still, but if you wanna avoid the same headache, please be aware of the fit style. ... show more
