    • Too noisy on some cars
Continental Elite belts, formerly Gatorback belts, have a reputation for quality, longevity and quietness. I bought this belt for those exact reasons. If you can pay a few more dollars to get a serpentine belt that lasts a little longer, why wouldn't you? However on some cars this belt is very noisy. Because of the split ribs it produces a faint, high pitches whistle which increases in volume with the engine speed. Some people like it, but I found it very annoying and ended up replacing it with an OEM belt. If you are looking for a quiet belt research your specific car and how it reacts to this belt. ... show more
