I didn't quite understand what was going on with the top when I bought this, but now that I've been using it a bit it's a really clever design that I haven't seen anywhere else. First of all, when closed, it is absolutely water-tight. You can tip it upside down and back and not a drop escapes. Then when you open it and tip it, it allows just a little liquid into the sip area and it's easy to control that so you don't end up wearing what you're drinking. Great for sipping in the car without any mishaps. Needless to say it keeps drinks hot or cold for a hours - and that's a primary deal right there. Being able to sip on hot coffee for hours is really nice. And the grip that's built-in to the body makes for easy handling and no slips. Very well thought out. I love a clever design and this is that!

I like Rtic brands but they don't have a decent top. Yeti is too expensive. This does the job very well. In manufacturing environment, you need someone that is spill proof (as long as you remember to close the lid). The tumbler on the left is about seven yrs old and still works very well. The gasket came a little loose and I wanted one that looked nice a work. I have drop this tumbler with a full cup of coffee inside on the meeting floor and there was not leakage. I have showed my coworkers, it being up side down with a full cup of coffee and it had no leakage. It's the one to have if leakage is a concern.

After double checking that they are closed good (I hold them sideways & upside down over the sink to check for leaks), I just throw these bad boys into my backpack &/or lunch bag. I guess I wasn't expecting to love this cup so much. I love the way it opens and the ease of drinking out of it. I love that there isn't a rubber ring anywhere. It is easy to clean, but you do need a bottle brush to get down into the bottle. I really like the grip on the outside also. Overall super happy with this purchase.

Both hot and cold beverages hold their temperatures well and I was pleased the mugs fit in my BMW X1. But unfortunately one of the two we took with us to Europe had a small leak. Following the online warranty instructions, I suggested that a replacement lid would most likely solve the problem as we could see it wasn't lining up correctly on the mug. Within a week a new mug was delivered to our home. Fabulous customer service in this day and age!

I have tried at least three other brands of travel mugs and this has been my favorite to date. I must have my coffee HOT, not lukewarm and this will keep my drink hot for up to three hours and I don't have to keep reheating it in the microwave. It is really spill proof but it must be closed properly. It is also very easy to clean but I use a long handle cleaning brush because the mug is too narrow to just clean it with your hands and a spong. It is a little difficult to pop open the lid with only one hand and you must be careful if it is filled with a piping hot beverage so using both hands would be wise. Otherwise, I cannot find any fault with this mug and I have been using it daily since purchase.
