    • Comfortable and great sound
Actually I was not looking for or expecting a better sound, but it was immediately noticeable. It's lightweight, which may help, and I wonder if they actually tune the chinrest deliberately. This is slightly higher than other strad-style chinrests that I have seen (which tend to be too low). I like the pronounced ridge that holds the instrument in place when needed (downshifting), but is not too molded - I can turn toward or away from the instrument while playing. The color is a little too blond/bland for my taste but I can live with that, it is a beautifully crafted accessory. Minor quibbles - it would have been classy if they had included a tool, and it takes a bit of playing around to get the adjustment right (basically have to unscrew it almost all the way and then add the top bit, in order to get the clamp low enough). Some may get confused with the left-handed thread on the bottom, without instructions. ... show more

    • it works!
I’ve tried several chin rests in the past years. So far there are only two work for me. One is a chin rest came with my old violin and nobody can really tell its brand; the other is this one. It’s well made and surprisingly comfortable.

The included angle of the bracket are less 90 degrees which make it impossible to put it on the violin
