  • You'll lose your nuts
Connelly makes very high quality skis and these are no exception. However, the same thing happened to us that happened to the first reviewer, we lost one of the fasteners for the stabilizer bar on our first day out with the skis. It's not really a "nut" as my headline would imply, it's more of a screw with a plastic T-handle on the top for easy tightening without the need for tools. So, you're really not going to "lose your nuts", you're going to lose your screws. Although, my son did wipe out on one attempt and felt like he lost his nuts! LOL! Overall, great skis, just wish they would provide extra fasteners with your purchase of the skis. ... show more

  • Works for training, not for slalom!
These skis help for getting beginners up on the water, but that's about all they are good for. I enjoy slalom skiing, but the ski is just about useless for that because of the extensive spray in the face. All I have ever owned is cheap combination skis and have never had an issue like this before with slalom. Do not buy these skis if you want to share them between beginner and intermediate, you'll find yourself having to buy another set anyway. ... show more

  • Don’t count on using the stabilization bar for long
I got these as a gift to learn how to ski for the first time. They were kind of a pain to get on. You can’t put the bar on first so I had to put the skies on then try to turn back around in the boat and have someone else put the bar on then turn back around to get in the water. I did about 8 pulls with them the first day I tried them with each pull being pretty short. They seemed fine that first day and I will say I think the stability bar helped me get up the first few times. One downfall is that they don’t give you and replacement bolts for the bar. Sure enough when I was trying to get the skis off, I took the bar off and dropped the nut into the lake. Wouldn’t have been that big of a deal because I got some replacement nuts for about 6 cents to keep on the boat, however when I went to ski the next day, I tried to put the new bolt in and realized the insert for the screw was gone out of the ski, rendering the stabilizer bar useless unless I want to find another insert and try to glue it in there. All and all I guess it did the job because that second day I could ski without the bar, but i really wanted to keep this pair around for beginners to use in the future once I move to a different pair of skis or a slalom. ... show more
