Description

Conduit 2 is the epic sequel to last year’s award-winning Wii-exclusive, The Conduit. Picking up on the heels of its predecessor, Conduit 2 puts you on the embattled front lines of the war to save humanity from the alien onslaught. Travel to the far ends of the earth to put an end to the struggle. The enemy is everywhere and the deck is stacked - trust no one. Turn the tide with the most powerful arsenal ever assembled, and bring the alien menace to its knees. Conduit 2 is first-person shooter (FPS) for Wii that challenges players to uncover and battle against an alien conspiracy that has coopted the highest levels of the US government and that now threatens the entire world. Follow-up game to the well received Wii FPS, The Conduit, Conduit 2 continues the groundbreaking action seen in the first game, bringing cutting-edge FPS gameplay and functionality rarely if ever seen on the Wii platform. Features include: 4 player local co-op with split-screen support, 12-player support online, online chat via the Headbanger headset (sold separately), character customization options and upgrades, a 20-weapon strong arsenal and much, much more. Story Waking up on an offshore oil rig Michael Ford recalls the escape that he was able to pull off at the conclusion of the original game, The Conduit. At that point it was made clear that things were not as he had been led to believe. The shadow government that he was once an agent of had in fact been coopted by an alien agenda unleashed by a man he once trusted, while the alien Drudge forces although still a deadly force, came to be seen as not quite the single-minded terror that they once seemed. But that was DC and this was another place entirely. Ford's mastery of alien conduit technology provided for his escape, as well as a second chance not only to save the human race, but also to exact revenge for the double cross that made him a pawn in a game whose players are only now becoming visible. Continue the battle against the Drudge horde and uncover the truth behind their invasion. View larger. Gameplay Like the original The Conduit game, Conduit 2 is a FPS developed specifically for the Wii platform, with players again stepping into the boots of series hero Michael Ford. Gameplay is mission-based with Ford in pursuit the alien Adams/Enlil, the betrayer of the US and the world from the first game. To do this players will take advantage of an improved arsenal of weapons and weapon features, the puzzle-solving ability and all-around guidance of the levitating handheld device known as the All-Seeing-Eye (ASE) and of course alien conduit technology that allows Ford to travel to the game's different physical environments. Additional features that impact gameplay include: much more expansive, nonlinear game levels, many of which allow for multiple paths toward a set endpoint; environments that are able to be altered or destroyed by Ford or his enemies in order to survive conflicts and succeed in battle; the addition of larger than life bosses to the alien Drudge hordes that pursue Ford; improved overall control response and support for the Wii MotionPlus accessory; and extensive multiplayer functionality including co-op support up to four players with split screen functionality, 12-player support online and online chat via the Headbanger headset (sold separately). Key Game FeaturesAll-new 4-Player Split-Screen Battles - Fight side-by-side on the same screen with up to four friends in the new Team Invasion Mode.Intense Online Multiplayer Action - Master new maps and modes for up to 12-players. Customize characters and weapon load outs. The Next Level of Wii Shooter - Play single, co-op and competitive modes, epic battles across the globe, boss fights, destructible environments, upgraded graphics and more.Controller Support - Supports Wii Remote and Nunchuk controllers, and is optimized for Wii MotionPlus controller accessory.Online Chat - Game supports the new Headbanger headset for online chat functionality.Play It Your Way - Create your character's unique look with the modular armor system and selectable skins; utilize a class system with pre-mission weapon load-out and suit upgrades; and gain currency to purchase new weaponry, armor, upgrades, and additional content.Advanced Weapons and Technology - Features an arsenal of over 20 weapons, including wall-penetrating sniper rifles, remotely- controlled deployable turrets, and alien technology that captures incoming fire and unleashes it back on the enemy. Man fixed emplacements at fortified positions and on drop ships. Use the alien ASE (All-Seeing-Eye) device to hack electronics and uncover hidden traps and enemies.Additional Screenshots

  • Does it live up to the hype?
Conduit 2 is a fantastic sequel. It surpasses the first in every way, adding in some fantastic new features. But does it live up to the absurd amount of hype it was given? Yes it does. STORY - Conduit 2 has taken the story up a notch. Even though you may not have any idea of what's going on, this game will keep you interested and curious as to how all the pieces fit together. There are a lot of fun, exciting locations to visit as well. The ending is also really cool. The voice acting is completely different. The first one had some excellent voice acting, with a serious tone, while this one takes a comical approach. At first, I didn't like the cheesy, B-Movie feel to it, but as the game went on, I really started to like it. There were some parts that were pretty funny, too. Easter eggs are also all over in this game, and I was surprised to see some really neat references to movies and other games. CONTROLS - This is where the game gave me some trouble. The controls in this game aren't bad, but they do take some tweaking and some getting used to. The classic controller is really sensitive in this game and the wiimote and nunchuk has a different feel than the first game had. Not a game breaker, but definitely a game changer. GAMEPLAY - The gameplay is fantastic in Conduit 2. Enemy A.I. is challenging, enemy types are varied, every gun feels like a different animal, boss battles are epic, puzzles will keep you thinking, collectibles will keep you searching and the level designs are fresh, colorful and give you multiple ways to play through. The In-game Store - The store is very cool. It allows you to purchase weapons, upgrades, characters and pieces of armor that you can take with you into either the singleplayer campaign or the online multiplayer. It adds a lot of replayability to this game. GUN DESIGN - The BEST part of Conduit 2! The guns make this game something incredible. Every gun has a different feel to it, but all are very well balanced. And this is made sometimes painfully clear in multiplayer. MULTIPLAYER - Just when you thought the warp pistol was useless, or that heavy armor just slows you down too much, somebody else does amazingly well with it. Online multiplayer is done extremely well. The level designs are well balanced (unlike black ops), the guns are well balanced (unlike black ops), and the upgrades are so good, it makes you want to equip them all. The game modes are all fun. I couldn't find a single one I didn't like. Splitscreen multiplayer has all the competitive online game types, but throws in a coop mode called invasion. Invasion is a horde mode similar to firefight from Halo where you fight wave after wave of enemies. But, unlike Halo, you can beat invasion mode. It does take a while, though. This game may be my pick for the best first person shooter on the wii, but it does have some flaws. Even though this game plays incredibly smooth, the framerate does drop at times. The single player feels like it could be just a little bit longer. However, it is a satisfying experience. The game did freeze on me once, but only once. The biggest complaint I have is that invasion mode is splitscreen only. No online invasion. I don't know if they can add that later with downloadable content, but if they can, then I would gladly pay for it. Overall, Conduit 2 is a fantastic game that actually does compete with Xbox 360 and PS3 games (believe it or not). A 5 star game all the way, regardless of what other reviewers say about it. For some reason, IGN gave this game a lower score than its predecessor. Are they stupid? Don't ask me. Decide for yourself. After all, everyone's different. ... show more

  • Fun just dont expect much graphically
Ill keep this short i got the game today and at first i was like this stinks but the game is fun the only thing dont expect much graphically. what i find the best part of this game is the upgrade of your guy in multiplayer. to me its like black ops but better in the sense that you dont just get money from playing on multiplayer but also finding hidden items in campaign and actually playing campaign. its first fps ive run into where you dont actually have to play multiplayer to build up your money for online combat. its not bad graphically but its not jaw dropping graphics but their decent for wii. the story is fun too and the AI is rather tough of some sorts they move out of the way when you fire they actually hit you with their bullets they also have an invasion mode like zombie mode in black ops but you cant play online which is probably my biggest complaint but this games got tons on weapons you can unlock and armor so my rating is a 4 out of 5 based solely on current Wii fps's not on other console fps's but im fine with that because id rather play this multiplayer than black ops multiplayer on wii but id rather play zombie mode then the invasion mode for the online aspect ... show more

  • Amazing GAME!!!!!!
I got this game and couldn't stop playing it since. The guns were creative, the graphics were amazing, and the multiplayer was fun. Overall i would rate this game 8.5 stars. I liked the creative guns, like the phase rifle which can shoot through walls and the hive cannon which you can fire a beacon thing at the enemy and all your ammo will come flying out of the hive cannon and on to the beacon. The graphics were an improvement from the last game and it was a lot better then black ops graphics. The only things i didn't like was the story. The story was creative but it didn't feel all that serious (after all there is an alien invasion going on) Other than that the only thing that was annoying was the laggy multiplayer. A lot of my time on multiplayer was spent exiting the match i was on because of the laggy multiplayer. Other than that it was a great game. I loved how the multiplayer was twisted together with the campaign. So if you do extra stuff on campaign(like scanning objects that the all seeing eye can scan) you get extra credits on multiplayer which you can use to customize your online character with, buy new weapons, and get suit upgrades. Overall this game at least deserves 4 stars. I really hope they make a third one. ps. (i really think those comments writers that amazon bombed this game should really mature) ... show more

  • A shame, total disappointment
This game is crappy. It was rushed, even though it was delayed for months. It's dull and short. You can get some fun out of it, but if you were a fan of the first game, this'll be a huge let down, unless you're only going online. Even then, there's really only a couple active game types. Invasion mode is limited to only three maps and local play only. It has game crashing bugs and the patches have completely stopped coming. ... show more

  • Great Title for Wii
First of all, I think I should say that this is my first Conduit game. (That meaning I have not played the original) However, I love this game. The graphics are great for Wii, with few rough edges. The AI is pretty good but not spectacular, taking cover, sniping (or attempting to snipe... it's relatively easy to find and kill the snipers) and the like. On the downside, your Free Drudge (alien) allies, although they speak English, are pretty hard to understand. Luckily, I found that most of what they have to say isn't that important in the long run, as you get your really important info from Prometheus, who kind of lives inside the ASE and is easy to understand) The weapons are REALLY cool, my personal favorites being the Strike Rifle, SCAR, and the Deatomizer, in that order. The Phase Rifle (a pretty neat sniper rifle that can shoot through walls) is cool, but when it's not in scope mode it's EXTREMELY inaccurate, while the Strike Rifle, although it lacks the ability to shoot through walls, functions well both in scope mode and hip-firing. I really enjoyed the ASE (All Seeing Eye) function of scanning "Conspiracy Items", blueprints for weapons (Woo-Hoo!), and maps for new locations. The levels (especially Washington DC) have a relatively large area to explore, but don't be expecting to have the roaming capabilities of Assassin's Creed. In my experience with this game it's one of the best titles out there for Wii, and I'm really not sure why anyone would give it a one-star review. ... show more

  • Bug prevents play beyond 10 minutes, do not buy
Don't buy this game. It has a bug that makes it unplayable after about 10 minutes. In level 1 on the oil rig you'll go through a door out onto a ledge. There's a locked gate to your right that is supposed to open automatically. It doesn't open and you are trapped - can't go forward, can't go back, can't play the rest of the game. The developer High Voltage Software acknowledged the bug in 2011 (search Google for "Conduit 2 full patch update") and provided a downloadable fix. However, Nintendo has shut down the multiplayer / update servers because the Wii is old. So you can't get the fix. If you buy this game you (or your child) will be very disappointed. ... show more

  • Lackluster Halo ripoff
If you're desperate for Halo on the WII and don't mind a lackluster homage with sluggish controls then this is the perfect game for you. It wasn't unplayable and even offered a pleasant diversion for a while, but it lacks the depth of competing games and is pretty low on replay value. While you'll feel ripped off if you buy this new, it could be worth picking up used for cheap or from the bargain bin. I'd say it's well worth the price if you get it for under $15. ... show more

  • One small step for Wii and one big leep from The Conduit
OVERALL: It's got lot's of nice features, but some missions in the campaign you could tell where thrown together to save time. HVS had to push the release date back twice on this game, and apparently some things had still been rushed, but the environments you go to are really varied. I'm going to go over all the features. CAMPAIGN: The campaign was average FPS length, and had lots of cool hidden items. The hidden items gave you clues about aliens being in human history and such like the Nazi bell. Unfortunately you can not replay the levels that are in the different areas of Atlantis (Atlantis is like a safe house between missions.) All though the hidden items are really cool, they are way to easy to find. Also it would have been nice to be rewarded for beating the game in the hardest difficulty. INVASION MODE(1-4): Invasion Mode was okay, but got boring, because the maps are small and there are only three of them. It was really nice that it had 1-4 players. The graphics in invasion mode where drastically reduced. VERSUS MULTIPLAYER ONLINE(2-12) AND LOCAL(2-4): It was really nice to have the versus multiplayer online and split-screen. The graphics in split-screen where reduced as well. It had lots of maps and modes to play in! STORE AND PROFILE: The profile and the store are really big improvements. There is lots of varied weapons, upgrades, characters, and armor parts you can get in the store. The profile let you edit your character and load out which you can use in all versus multiplayer, campaign, and invasion mode! You can also see the achievements you unlocked here. ... show more
