    • Mic seems clear but...

I will start with the extras. The scissor stand is not really strong. The metal on the table clamp is pretty weak. The wind covers seem pretty good. The directions are absolutely horrible. Very difficult to follow. Tried to find help on youtube but hard to find anything in English. One of the better ones I found the guy spoke pretty good English but broke into another language whenever explaining something important. I found it humorous but not very helpful. It is all good. I figured it out via trial and error. The Live Sound Card is meh. This is where my main issue is. The mic puts out a clear undistorted sound but going through the card it is so quiet. You pretty much have to put your face on the microphone to get the sound to come out at an acceptable level even though the levels on the sound card are completely maxxed out. The sound clips/samples are ok but not super impressive however are insanely loud compared to the mic. The sound effects are pretty decent. I like the echo and the voice changer. The main job of this thing is for the microphone for me. This is why I give it low marks. I do not want to have to put my face on the microphone while recording or streaming to even get a sound that can be heard. Overall the mic seems pretty good. The sound is clear and undistorted. You cannot plug it directly in to the mic port on the computer without phantom power. I purchased an inline phantom power to see if it is just the sound card that it is making the sound so quiet. I bought this for the effects box...thinking that for the price along with its stand that the microphone itself can't be all that good. A nice surprise! The mic has a great sound...better than my six dynamic mics for which I paid nearly that much each. The wind/pop filter in it is superb...blow into the mic and hear almost nothing. It works great with my mixer---just remember that you'll need a mixer that can supply phantom power to it or it won't work. The effects are what I was looking for to liven-up my karaoke parties...cheers, laughter, applause, cackles...the box works great into the mixer too. ... show more
