I was hesitant because a few reviews I read mentioned the mirror had to be repeatedly turned on while using due to its sensitivity to touch. After over a month of daily use, I have not had this issue. That seems more like user error to me. It’s much bigger than most of the mirrors I see for the same price, and sturdy too - my two-year-old plays with it every chance he gets. The finish makes it aesthetically pleasing. My only complaint is I wish it was a tad brighter but it works very well so far. I’d definitely purchase again or for a gift!

Update: 8yrs later this mirror is still truckin!!! Light still works just as great as the day i got it. I hope people love it as much as i do! Love this item. Two things to make a note of when purchasing: Light isn't a white light. It is more of a setting for "night" makeup. Yellowish, if you will. And also the magnification side isn't super close, if that makes sense. I think its a great mirror. I do wish the magnification was better, but its OK. The mirror is sturdy. The base is the only portion that you can touch to turn on and change brightness. My cat has rubbed against it quite a few times and it has not turned off on me. For those that say it is easy to change and turn off and can be frustrating... Just don't touch the base. Simple as that. From the side it is thick. I'd say 3 or 4 inches. Maybe in the middle. It is a wonderful mirror and does its job. Shipping was quick as well!

I bought this mirror and it was great! BUT the light stopped working. It was too late to return to amazon, so I called conair. They said they no longer make the replacement bulbs for this and that they would replace it. I had to send photo proof that I cut the cord for warranty purposes. They sent me a "replacement" of a mirror that was smaller, a different color, different color light and half the price I originally paid. I sent that one back as well. I went back and forth with them about it and they stopped answering my voicemails and emails. So I'm out $80 for nothing. DO NOT BUY THIS even though it would be a great mirror. They do not make the replacement bulbs and they will not honor warranty

I've been using this mirror for 2-3 months Couple of points: - The black matte finish is nice, because it always looks clean. - The mirror can get a bit hot if I use it too long - very easy to do when staring at your face in 7x magnification. Lots of things to look at... - No issues with fog from my breath as I examine my face closely for extended periods of time. - It has 3 light settings, but I've found that I always want the brightest setting. Not sure how much use anyone will get out of the dimmer ones. Sometimes I wish the light was brighter - The touch feature works well. Yes, if you accidentally tap it with your hand, the light will go off/change modes, but it's just as easy to turn it back on again. I used another touch-lighted mirror in the past and I had issues with it "magically" turning off and on without me touching it, but I don't have that issue with this mirror. - The mirror has a great height for doing makeup/eyebrows.

First off, this is lighted with incandescent bulbs. They are simply not as bright or as blue-white as LED's. That said, this mirror was bright enough to tweeze my brows and do extractions. I haven't tried it out yet for full makeup but have used it to put on my brows, which turned out fine. I couldn't say if other people who would use it for full makeup (foundation, blush, etc) would be ok with the yellowish color of the light it gives. It did get a lot hotter, a lot quicker than LED's, but not so hot I thought it was overheating, and wasn't afraid of burning myself. Now, about the touch on-off function: This was a real hit or miss situation. It was fine when I was using it for my brows/extractions; I didn't find myself turning it off by accident. But when I was using it for extra light when I was painting my sister's nails, both she and I kept brushing or bumping it. I must have had to turn it back on 15 - 20 times in our 30 min nail sesh. I really like the matte black finish. It doesn't really show fingerprints. It would be nice if the cord was a little longer to give more flexibility in where you can use it but it's ok as is. Overall, this is a great value for the price.

The mirror was awesome when I got it. Very sturdy. Lights could have been brighter, but I was pleased. BUT...after 9 months of minimal use; the light will not come on at all. Very disappointing because it is a very pretty mirror.

I had a makeup mirror similar to this for YEARS. It finally bit the dust. When I went to replace it, everything was LED and only 2-3x magnification. I tried 3 different types and brands and still ended up having to use a flashlight and glasses. I decided to check Amazon for one with an incandescent light and higher magnification. Ta-Da! Now I can see! I knew I missed my old one but never realized how much. This mirror makes a world of difference whether I am putting on makeup or plucking my eyebrows. I am getting ready to order spare bulbs for it now---just in case. It is a little more expensive than the other mirrors I looked at but I would honestly be willing to pay twice as much for it. It is well worth it. OH....and the 3 levels of brightness from the touch feature are so convenient and the icing on the cake!

Found it to be the right magnification to put makeup on. Touch base makes it so easy to turn on and to adjust right amount of light to see face clearly, It is made out of sturdy metal which makes it durale, and long lasting. I like that it only needs a slight human touch yet when touched with a cleaning rag does not turn on, it takes the human touch to turn on. Black color makes it stylish and bends with any decor. I really like this one.
