O yes I am glad I bought one. I have seen Jan a couple of times life, have some albums on LP. Glad found this insanely cheap CD box with most of his work. You do not know Jan? Like guitar, Like Jazz, Like avant garde, like prog music? This should be on your CD shelf

I have some of the albums in this collection, but many I do not have. Great price for a collection from the best guitarist that I have ever heard!!

    • Guitar Giant!!
I remembered Jan Akkerman from his stint in the band, Focus, and thoroughly enjoy the box set released around that band, so I had to have this set as well. I like it as well, and marvel at how many styles he tried as time dragged on. This is well worth hearing, especially since I'd lost touch with both Focus and Akkerman's career as progressive radio phased out and certain artists were no longer played that often. That is what I like about sets like this; we are able to enjoy those classic albums again as well as play "catch up" with the career up to its finalities on a specific label. Indeed a worthy entry to my collection, and I hope that Rhino does other musicians of this type this high an honor. How about Pat Metheny? Wow, think of the possibilities! ... show more
