These things are a plastic back with a metal front cover / hooks that snap over it. They look and feel much better than the plastic ones. They work great and I've been using them to add hooks all over as needed. Installing is very easy as long as you are careful to line it up properly when sticking it on the wall or you might put them slightly crooked. They don't give spare adhesive strips so you might need to buy extras. I have not removed them yet so I can't comment about that but in the past with other 3M adhesive foam I haven't had problems. Follow the instructions and let the glue bond and don't exceed their capacity and you should be fine. ... show more

I followed the instructions and put both of these up in the same room. At no point did they have anything heavier than what they are rated for. One has held up fine the past couple of weeks. The other fell off the wall within a couple of days and took paint with it. I’ve used command strips for pictures with no issues. I won’t buy these again. ... show more

I used these under a desk/table to hang garland and decorations without having to damage the furniture or use ridiculous amounts of tape. These held a 6ft garland, lights and ornaments under a 5 ft desk really well and they were discreet enough that no one saw them.
