I purchased these about six months ago, and have been meaning to write a review. Let me start by first saying, I do generally like Command adhesive products, and have generally had great success using these products (in my office at work, and in a rented apartment), but this is the worst of many packages of Command products I have purchased. First, these did not come in the 3M Command packaging - these came in a clear plastic bag, like how you get the screws and bolts for DIY furniture. I was like, okay, I've gotten other products off Amazon that didn't have the original packaging, assuming because of damage in the warehouse or something, and they worked perfectly fine. So, I kept these. BIG MISTAKE. These were the worst Command items to work with. First, is just about impossible to get the backing off these strips - I'm talking, if you are lucky enough to get a 2mm edge free with your fingernails, you need to bite with your front teeth and try to pull the rest off. Secondly, similar to what other reviewers have stated, even if you do get the backing off (sometimes a fine layer of paper remains) , the adhesive mostly peels off, then snaps back in a messy blob...it's kind like that goopy adhesive on the back of new credit cards, but way thinner, stickier, and impossible to straighten out and attempt to use. Finally, I did manage to get some usable strips out of my pack (of 16 sets, I believe) and at home hung a 10x12 frame - not heavy - to have it fall after a few weeks. And because maybe I'm a moron, I've used strips from the same package and rehung the picture only to have it eventually fall two more times. Just yesterday it fell again and the frame finally broke, which prompted me to write this review. At work, I hung a much larger, heavier dry erase calendar and it fell twice as well. I finally ended up using clear pushpins all around the bottom corners to keep it in place. The person who moves into my office after me is going to think I'm nuts. Please note, despite all the negativity, I have purchased the same item on Amazon in the past and those hanging strips worked great - I would just be careful purchasing from this particular item option because I'm suspicious that this is a fake 3M product, or if it is, it may be a defective batch that someone chose to sell anyway. It's not like i"m out a ton of money, it's just disappointing.

Hung an entire gallery wall with these and the smaller size. Easy to Velcro apart to reposition. Had to fully remove a couple too and left no marks. I wish I had found these months ago when I first moved into my new home. They are amazing! I will always use these when possible, moving forward.

Did you think you would save your wall a little hole? Wait until your paintings (3 in a 5 hour period) come crashing down at random hours of the night destroying your base boards, art, floors, and cutting your cats. Maybe these are not meant to be used in high humidity places like houston .Run away quickly from this product

I previously purchased this same product from Ace Hardware and absolutely loved how it worked, so I decided to purchase again from Amazon to re-hang a picture I wanted to move to a different room. Where the first time (with the Command strips I purchased from Ace Hardware) the picture stuck firmly right off the bat and held up without issue, this time I couldn't even take my hands off of the picture fully before it slipped off the wall. (Don't worry; I caught it.) The adhesive was barely sticky when I touched it. I read other reviews about people thinking they received a fake/knock-off product because the quality was drastically different and unfortunately I think that's what happened to me also. My picture was well within the weight restriction, and I applied the strips precisely as instructed. I even applied 2 extra sets of strips for extra hold. I will attempt to order again through 3M's website, but would not recommend buying this product again otherwise. Or maybe I'll try going back to Ace to make sure I get the real product.

Either fake or had been stored incorrectly. I have used command strips many times before and have never had a problem with them. The part you peel off stuck to the sticky part and ruined every strip as I tried to use them. Maybe they had been stored somewhere hot and the adhesive had partially melted? Either way I would recommend just running to the store and picking some up there instead of ordering them here. Mine ended uo being un-usable.

I use these often, and they are great for saving my walls. No more nail holes, and if you follow the directions, no peeling paint. A couple of suggestions for anyone new to these, so you can benefit from my trial and error: 1. Make sure the surface you're applying to is clean, especially kitchen walls which may have unseen residue typical from regular cooking. Otherwise, you may experience issues with adhesion over time. 2. Choose a less humid day to hang these. If that's not an option, wipe your surface area thoroughly with a damp cloth, then run a fan on it for a bit until thoroughly dry. Keep fan running during application if possible. 3. Use more than you think you'll need based on the packaging suggestion. I typically use two pairs of strips (top and bottom) for anything 8 x 10 or larger, or for anything with any weight to it. An extra strip may be more than you need, but trust me, you don't want to end up with less than you need when your cherished portrait comes crashing to the floor. In my many, many uses of these strips, I have fortunately only had this happen once. These strips are quite sturdy. 4. It can be easier to hang items if you first press the strips together, then apply the sticky sides to the item you are hanging, and then finally to the surface on which you're hanging the item. A small level set on top of your picture/item will ensure a nice even look. 4. When removing, pull the tab while applying mild pressure to the strip, holding it against the application surface. This will lessen the likelihood of a chunk of paint from being pulled off. Overall, this is a great, very useful product which will allow you to hang and change up your favorite decor without damaging your walls. Highly recommended.
