If you’re in plus sizes and looking for sun protection shirts, stop looking and go with these because it doesn’t get much better. I say this confidently as I have tried several brands over the past week or two as well as some within the past few years and they’ve all been too tight. I think that’s mainly due to the fact that all clothing manufacturers think that if you’re wearing a UPF shirt you must be this muscularly built super model with a 6 pack and blah blah blah percent body fat. As if all athletic people are rail thin (eye roll). I’ve tried this type of shirt in multiple brands and it’s all the same. Most moisture wicking shirts I’ve tried have molded to me and accentuated every ounce of fat on my body, which I despise. And no, they weren’t compression shirts. They literally were just UPF shirts. In all honesty, I’ve only ever purchased cotton t-shirts in the Columbia brand (which I love and have lasted quite a while), so I can’t tell you what their other stuff is like. What I can tell you is that this is the first brand I came across that offered truly plus sized UPF shirts with a fantastic fit. Seriously, I bought two and they’re some of the most comfortable shirts I’ve ever worn. It’s beyond me how anyone could not like them. The material is butter baby soft and it fits like a moisture wicking shirt without cutting off your oxygen. The sleeves ae a little longer than I’d like, but I’m short legged and armed, so that was to be expected. Just gonna push up the sleeves if I have to and keep it moving, because it isn’t worth complaining over. Bottomline, and I say this a lot because I’m firm about it, I am NOT a brand person. You will never catch me wearing something just because everyone else is wearing it too. In this case however, and I hate to admit it, the expensive brand wins out. Columbia is a trusted brand when it comes to outdoor wear and it’s for a reason. These are superior to all other UPF shirts I’ve personally tried. I’m sure there are even more expensive brands out there than these and this is just skimming the surface, but trust me. In order for me to pay 30 bucks for a shirt, it has to impress. And these do. It’s hard to find sun shirts when you’re fat. They either fit tight and make you feel like a sausage, or they’re button up and don’t stretch enough. This one is fantastic. The 3x was slightly loose as advertised, the sleeves were the right length, and it’s of great quality, comfortable, and protects me from the sun. It’s like they actually had fat bodies in mind when they designed it, instead of just making normal sizes larger without thought to how things actually fit, like so many other companies seem to do. Love this shirt - it’s keeping me from getting sunburned while gardening. A++ do recommend.

I love sun shirts, and it's hard to find one that fits me well. This Columbia Tidal is it! I love the raglan sleeves and the sleeves are not too long for my 5'3" frame. The best thing is that the white is not sheer and I can wear it with for casual activities, not just beach and outdoor activities. The white was on sale for 50% off when I got it and I'm waiting for other colors to go on sale too.

I got these shirts in several colors to protect me from the sun. I was happy they fit nicely, the sleeves were a little longer but I could roll up the ends a bit or let them be long when needed. The long list of colors was overwhelming and most colors were out of stock so be prepared for some heartache if you find a color you like it most likely will not be available. I wear these in the summer to protect from the sun and to use less sun screen. I also found these are great for kids outdoor sporting events for both sun protection and for some reason I stay a bit cooler in them. The weight is not heavy so it doesn’t feel like you are wearing a long sleeved t shirt or anything that heavy. They are breathable which is nice too. The only reason that they are not five stars is that they are pricey ($40 in most cases) for you to be walking around with a huge advertisement for Columbia down one arm in potentially a color combination you do not want. Overall, happy that they went up to a size to accommodate my bust, they are great sun protection leading to less sunscreen usage, keep me a bit cooler since they are breathable, but you pay a premium to advertise the brand and potentially make a color combination you may not like.
