I was worried when purchasing the lighter color, because I thought a bunch of dirt would show, but they are surprisingly easy to clean, and honestly, not much dirt or dust kicked up on them in the first place. I was able to wipe off anything non-liquid with my hand and the rest came off with some water and a towel. The shoes took some breaking in... My first hike with them hurt one of my ankles a bit, but it was hot out, so I didn't have thick socks on. They were fine after that first time, but probably not great for summer/spring use. They are super thick on the bottom too, so you can't really grip or feel the earth like you would with a smaller hiking shoe, but I love them! I bought these a 1/2 size up from my normal size since other reviews suggested to do so. They were a little big, but nothing thick sockes couldn't fix. I have worn them for several outdoor hikes, camping trips, and even as work boots. They were comfortable from the first wear, kept my feet dry in rain, warm in snow and since I've purchased a second pair in another color and in my true size and they also fit great and were the same quality Don't hesitate and get these. ... show more

I have wide feet and have had numerous foot and ankle issues over the years. I have tried at least a dozen boots and hikers the past few months available through Prime Try before you buy. I have had no luck, until now. They feel like they were made for my feet. The foot bed is cushiony but supportive. The sole is solid, but flexes when I walk. I'm not one to spend more than $60 to $70 on a pair of shoes, but these are worth every penny. ... show more

I love this entire line of Columbia boots - Newton Ridge Plus - I have two pairs in two different colors. They are the MOST comfortable boot! They hold up super well. I have hiked major trails in Kentucky, went through mud, wet fields, stood long hours in my shop on concrete - and my feet always feel so good and solid in them. I ordered wide and they are truly wide boot, but not swimming in them. Cushioning support is awesome - no break in required for these at all! LOVE LOVE ... show more

I just received my first pair of hiking boots, and I love them. Esthetically they're cool looking, but they are also comfy (thus far). I have yet to hike with hiking shoes, the last time I hiked was 15 years ago with my Chuck Taylor's and I obviously didn't have much success, thus me purchasing. Thus me purchasing my first pair. I wore it for my half dome hike and it wa super sturdy . It protected my toes from rocks and gravel. I have one suggestion though . After a long day of hiking it hurts the toes . It’s not just this shoe but any shoe . A memory foam inside kinda design to protect toes after a long day of hike especially downhill would be a great product design . ... show more

I did a 3 hour hike in these right out the box. I was a little worried if I should have broke them in a bit first, but they were great. Very comfortable and have a good grip when I was scaling rocks. I can’t speak on the durability but so far worth the money.
