My go to hiking boot used to be the Columbia Trailstorm but since they stopped making those I had to find a new pair. These are pretty similar to the Trailstorm, they’re still lightweight and feel like a perfect mashup of hiking boot and tennis shoe. They’re slightly shorter than the Trailstorm but the toe length on my normal size 7 fit just fine with mid weight wool socks. They’re definitely waterproof and mud wipes off easily. So far they’re holding up well and don’t look scratched up or old despite wearing them most of the late summer-early winter and putting LOTS of hiking miles on them. The first couple times of wearing them they did cause some soreness right above my ankles on the shin bone on the outer side of the leg, from where the top lace sits and caused the tongue to press on that spot. It wasn’t terrible but I definitely felt and had to loosen my laces, after about 2-3 wears it feels perfect and causes no soreness. So I do think these require a little breaking in, when I first tried them on I really wasn’t sure if I liked them but I had been so spoiled by the comfort of the Trailstorm that I decided to just give them a try. Very well made hiking boots. I brought them to Zion and did not have to break them in at all. It supported my ankles very well and were incredibly comfortable. I did four hikes one day, climbing over rocks and I definitely would’ve twisted my ankle if I didn’t have these on. They were also cute.

    • FINALLY FOUND 'THE' BOOT!

I am almost 75 years old and I wanted a pair of snow boots that are COMFORTABLE. (Is that too much to ask?) I tried three other kinds - ALL of them were uncomfortable - and finally came upon these at a store in town but they were too expensive and very plain. I was delighted to find cuter ones cheaper here and love the turquoise accents on them. PLUS THEY FIT WELL AND ARE COMFORTABLE! I know they're hiking boots, but they are water resistant and fit well. My toes are not squeezed, and the heel doesn't slip when I walk. The only two concerns are that hopefully the metal fasteners for the laces won't eventually wear through the matching laces, and the footbed could be cushier. I bought inserts for that, and they are quite comfy now. With inserts that are a bit thick I wear a thinner sock but that's ok. SO HAPPY to have finally found these and I even wear them for everyday! ... show more
