Perfect shorts for me. I had purchased through Amazon prime wardrobe the Columbia Saturday Pant and liked them enough to want to try as shorts only. The price point on these was great and I thought maybe it’s close out pricing. they’re superbly constructed with tight stitching and numerous details throughout that I would only expect in a highest quality higher priced product.     • Lightweight, relaxed fit.
These shorts are 100% nylon so they are definitely not stretchy, however, they are extremely comfortable as they have a relaxed fit. I love the 6 inch inseam. I am a 5'2 senior and I love that they are not to long or real short. I think these shorts run a little large so I ordered a size smaller than I normally do. The give in the elastic waist allows for the comfortable wear of the smaller size. They are not a form-fitting short, so if you buy a size too big they will definitely be baggy. I need an orange pair of shorts. The pictures of the 2 versions of an available orange color appear the same to me so it was difficult to differentiate the colors. By definition, poppy has a red tint so I chose the amber tinted color. It is definitely not as orange as the picture indicates. That is my primary reason for giving only a 4-star rating. ... show more

    • Great fit, easy care shorts
I have only had these shorts for a few days, but the fit is nice...plenty of room, but not baggy legged as some are. Fabric is comfortable and I know from past experience they will wash well and dry quickly. I wear shorts for the times we are at the beach with our boat, and they are easy to move in, getting in and out of the boat and if they get wet they dry quickly. The length is perfect for someone short like me. They are long enough to be decent but don't make ladies with short legs feel like their pants cover all their leg.Casual look and feel, yet when we dock restaurant side I feel they look good enough to manage indoor seating.I am thinking of ordering another pair in black. I'm a huge fan of Columbia Sandy River shorts. This is the first pair of the "cargo version" that I've tried and I LOVE them. The turquoise color is sooo pretty, and they have the same amazing, versatile quick-dry fabric as the non-cargo version. While I'm not one who loves to load my pockets up with stuff, it's kind of nice to know they are there. The belt is a nice touch, but I've found that I don't need it...the shorts have a nice fit without it. I ordered my normal size and it fits perfectly! As far as the length goes, I would say that they are a nice compromise between a super short short (which I'm too old for now) and an above-the-knee Bermuda.     • Practical but a bit poufy!
If you’re on the smaller end of a size range, size down. These are comfortable and super lightweight, but look voluminous as a result. Great zip/snap closure with integrated speed-clip belt. Low-profile pockets. Consistent with Columbia’s quality and function standards.

    • Comfortable shorts, great for travel
I ordered a pair of these shorts in XL (based on sizing info) and they were rather baggy. I don't like my clothing tight, but these were a little too "generous" so I exchanged them for size L and they are perfect! I ordered 2 different colors in L and love them. I just returned from 3 weeks of travel and these shorts were great to have along. They are have decent-sized side pockets plus the zippered back pocket (zipper is covered by a small flap to hide it) and fit nicely. They wash and dry very quickly and took up little space in my luggage. I have since bought 2 more pairs in other colors (4 different pairs in all). I am a 60-something grandmother and found these shorts suitable in terms of coverage and comfort. I highly recommend these shorts. ... show more

    • Comfortable and modest shorts
I bought these shorts because I need to be comfortable during the hot summer, but not feeling grannyish or like I'm trying to be 18 years old. I am in my 30s and have been looking for comfortable shorts that have a good length but don't make me feel like I'm dressing too old or too young. These shorts are perfect! I was a little nervous about the thigh part because obviously the model has nice slender legs, but these look great on me even having little thicker thighs.
