I broke my tibia, fibula, and fractured my ankle on Thanksgiving. They weren't sure I would walk again. Got surgery with a metal rod for the leg, but they didn't think pinning the ankle would be the best move. I worked hard in physical therapy and got up and about faster than they thought possible. My ankle has be a bit pesky though. I got good snow boots that laced up, but they aren't good for the warmer months ahead. I have columbia products and took a chance on these hiking boots as I need support for the ankle. They came today. True to size, fit better than I could have hoped for. The cleats on the top of the boot allow me to cinch it tight, which is what is needed for added ankle support. They are lightweight which is an added bonus. It matches the color of my columbia coat as well. I won't be wearing a thick sock, but believe I could if needed, there is enough room in the toe box. I did get my regular size. I debated between these and skechers, same price, and I have always had great luck with their products, but chanced these and am quite happy.

These keep my feet 100% dry! I love these light boots esp with all this rain and muddy wet trails. I walk my dogs daily, rain or shine and need a boot to keep up with them without falling, slipping or getting soggy wet wet. Ordered 7 1/2 wide which is my normal size. At first I thought they were too tight but after a few times wearing them, they were perfect. My feet are narrow at the heels and wide in the mid step. I prefer not to have my feet forced to land on the toes which hurts my knees, these boots feel balanced. I wear orthotics which easily fit inside. The laces stay tied and tight and so far the only wear is on the inside of the boot on the heel area. The boots give me security on rocks and uneven slippery surfaces even with the dogs sometimes pulling or twisting around with their leashes. I tried some light jogging with these and there's where I started to have trouble with my big and little toes pushing up against the boot and being uncomfortable. So unfortunately I don't see using them for wet weather jogging. I have a pair of Solomon's waterproof boots which are not all that comfortable and more to the point they leak like crazy after only a short time and I really hate wet feet or having wet boots which can take too long to dry.

In most shoes I wear a 9.5W. These shoes are true to fit and comfortable, no blistering or rubbing noticed(wore Gold Toe mid-calf or thick alpaca knee socks) plenty of toe bed room. Because I have high arches and need the extra support, I did replace the insoles with SOLE inserts, but that's it. Water doesn't penetrate, and once dry, uppers are easy to clean. Another nice thing is the laces are plenty long, good for a double tie lacer like myself. I love the variety of colors, however they come with a higher price tag. Given we are going to do some heavy transitional(from snow to mud) hiking in Iceland, I went with a less expensive color. I'll get a prettier color for simple dry land hiking!

There’s nothing like these shoes, if you’re looking for hiking boots I highly recommend you buy these instead of looking for a cheaper pair that’ll end up not giving you everything you need in a hiking boot…. Just bought my second pair, absolutely in love with both color schemes I got blue laces & gray shoes, also the original red laces &brown shoe they are extremely comfortable, durable, water proof, & sturdy in the slippery mud… honestly made hiking a breeze, kinda upset I never bought these sooner, I got lucky and received a used “like new” pair for 60$ literally was a brand new pair never work in mint condition

I'm usually a size 6, sized up to 6 1/2 to allow for socks (and an insert for more arch support if needed), the 6 1/2 is a great fit. There is some arch support already in these so I won't need an insert right away. They are pretty light weight, glad for that. Can't attest to the waterproof factor quite yet, but I wouldn't have purchased them if I didn't believe the dozens of reviews that say the waterproof claim on these boots is legit.

I got these for the purpose of hiking shoes, clearly. I really love the style and look of them. I am not too sure about comfort though as I haven't really put much use into them yet. Reason being, I ordered half a size up after reading reviews suggesting to do so and I wish that I hadn't because they are bigger than I like and they feel bulky on my feet. So, I wouldn't suggest diverting from your normal size as some people have. I would recommend ordering your usual size. I typically have the issue of shoes fitting too snuggly when I go with my usual size after suggestions to size up, so this time I followed some suggestions and regret it.

First of all I’m not one to write reviews but after using these hiking boots last week I must say I’m really impressed with the quality. I was thinking for the price point I was not getting something up to par with a good quality pair of hiking boots… oh how mistaken I was!! I was really impressed with the comfort and traction these boots provided we put them to the test last week in Colorado on several hikes and they definitely exceeded my expectations!! I would definitely buy again and recommend highly!!
