  • Treat yourself, buy them.
Comfort are durability are incredibly important to me. I can get a cool looking design or a waterproof boot anywhere. But comfort and durability... not always easy to find in a good looking and functional boot. These definitely impress when it comes to comfort. Since I have only had them for about a month, I will need to see how durable they are. So far they seem pretty solid. They are definitely waterproof. I took them out during a rain storm for about 45 minutes. Puddles and all, my feet were warm and completely dry. Mine were lacking the logo on the back of the heel, just as many other reviewers experienced. This is not important to me. I figure they were either knock-offs or the Columbia manufacturer messed up - which is why these were priced so well. After receiving them I will say they are NOT KNOCK OFFS. Quality is standard (high) for Columbia priducts. If the back logo is important to you, you may want to skip this purchase. If you don't care, then just buy them. So far I love them. I am not sure about the durability yet, but the name brand usually makes really high quality hiking boots. Just get them. For yourself or someone else who loves comfort while exploring outdoors...they are definitely a treat. ... show more

  • Order 1/2 size larger
I ordered a half size larger than my typical 9.5. The width of the shoe was fine for my feet. They are a tiny bit snug but, after I really break them in they should fit like a glove. I have the blue pair and the top of the boots are closer to a "hunter's orange" meets peach than the baby peach color that is shown. The blue/leather part of the shoe is pretty accurate. It is like a cobalt blue. The leather is suede like but, even though it feels super soft on the outside, it is supportive. I am about to put 17 miles on these shoes this weekend and I will update my review after the impending hike! **Update** Okay my final review...I LOVE THESE BOOTS!!!! They kept my feet dry (lots of rain in the mountains this past weekend), and the boots quickly dried as well. I just left them outside of my tent and they would be dry. Let me clarify here, the boots were never drenched i.e. dumped in a river and hung out to dry kind of wet, just the normal splashing through puddles etc. These boots also clean up nicely, I used wet ones and a microfiber cloth and viola, clean! My feet were never sore wearing these boots but, it still felt great taking off the boots after a long day of hiking. They kept my feet warm but not in the sense fur-lined boots would keep your feet warm. When I would take off my boots and socks at the end of the day my socks would be a little "damp". Also no sweaty foot smell either. The tread pattern on these boots handled rocks, mud, roots and steep climbs with ease, never once did I feel like my footing was going to slip. ... show more

  • These make me WANT to go walking!
I bought a pair of the men's version in blue for my 16 year old son because he likes to hike on bike trails and in local woods. He raved about them. I then bought the last burgundy pair Amazon had in size 6 for my daughter. She loved them and started wearing them to and from work in bad weather. I broke down and bought a pair for myself. The teal suede is beautiful! The fit was wonderful! I bought one pair in regular width, and one in wide, planning on sending the worst fitting of the two back. The regular ones gave just enough to be comfortable, and the wide fit was amazing (I have slightly wide feet). In the end, I kept both. I am wearing them every day on the 6 block hike from my parking lot to work and then back every day and keep my business shoes at the office. I have started going on hikes on the weekend with my kids. I have never had to go through any breaking in period with them I'm and still thrilled with the fit, comfort and durability. I now understand what my kids were talking about! ... show more

  • "A" for Adorable and A Perfect Fit!
We are going to be hiking the Grand Canyon soon. I needed a pair of hiking boots with good tread. My last pair (Timberlands) were sufficient until recently when I fell not once, but twice, due to tread wear, on my last hike in the Blue Ridge Mountains. I found these on Amazon for a great price. My feet are narrow and small (6.5) and most hiking boots I have tried on feel like I'm wearing boats! Too bulky and way too heavy. Imagine my surprise when these fit like a glove! My feet look so cute and tiny in these boots! I have been wearing them around the house the past couple of days to "wear them in". There is no rubbing at my ankle and my toes have plenty of room to breathe. I will wear these with normal thickness socks. Wool socks make my feet hot, sweaty, itchy. I would think a half size up would be perfect for those wearing heavy socks but for me the sizing is true. ... show more

  • Best hiking boot I've had in awhile
I "broke" in by walking everywhere in them and instantly was in heaven. My feet are so picky, I always hurt and buy expensive shoes to remedy my pain. I love using these instead of wlaking shoes no joke, they are more comfy than my Nikes. They are so cute, teal is me, ankles are comfy, support, etc. I believe it could a tinge more cushion, eventually I may have to add some if I wear it down. No problems rubbing on toes or ankles, I have size 10 feet, medium/not wide. I do need to waterproof them, I've already worn them hiking a lot and I see I need to wipe them off and waterproof the toe area (it is already I think but not enough to keep scrapes/mud off). ... show more

  • Great walking boot and more.
I use these boots for not only hiking but for everyday wear. I feel they are sized just a tad larger than normal which allows me to put a cushion insert into them without making the boot too tight. I rarely find shoes that have adequate padded insoles and these are no exception so I find an insert is necessary for most shoes. Adding padded insole makes them much more comfortable. So far they seem durable. It's great to find a pair of casual shoes I can wear all day and evening without thinking about my feet. I purchased one pair, then decided my feet deserved another color in this style! I didn't give the boot 5 stars because I felt the boot needed additional padding (insert) to achieve the comfort level my feet need. ... show more
