Like: Like Very Much. * Very Light, very comfortable, nice looking, classic looking (SOME BRAND boots look scary). * The whole time (9-mile hiking), felt comfortable. * My feet don't look big (I like shoes that make my feet look small and slim, these are the shoes). * I got realized the good hiking boots make big differences for comfortable or not. * I normally wear 6M or 6W. But for hiking boots, I ordered 6.5W (I have round toes and wide feet), and they are perfect. My toes didn't have to be curled up or squeezed in. * Prior to these hiking boots I felt so tired after hiking; but w/these boots, I still felt full of energy. * Also I tried several good brand hiking shoes and boots, they were all so uncomfortable. * Shoe laces stayed being tied the whole hiking time (I didn't have to stop and retie). * My co-hiker liked my boots and she will get one too. ** Plus the low ankle hiking shoes (not boots) rubbed my ankles. So if you experience the problem as well, I recommend boots. Dislike: No dislike, only hope they make more pretty colors. I wanted and liked a lot of Ash Gray w/RIP Tides, but they were all sold out.

This is my second pair of Newton Ridge. I bought my first one in our local Columbia store. I’ve tried different pairs of hiking shoes/boots over the years and this by far is the most comfortable. The sizing is just right-with enough room for a good pair of socks and ample space for my toes. After two years of use, my first pair showed the wrinkles stated by some of reviewers here. When I brought up this issue in our local Columbia store, I was advised of a specific shoe care kit for leather boots, that I can buy from any leather shoe store. Hopefully this pair will last longer than the previous one. Generally, a well-rounded hiking boot. Although, I’m a bit apprehensive wearing these on a wet and muddy tropical jungle trek.

It took me 5 pairs before I finally got the right size for these. Most Columbia boots run small and narrow. I know this because I own two different types of Columbia snow boots. They are the only brand I wear for snow/winter for the last 20 - 30 years. I bought these assuming they would also run small, big mistake. If you buy the right size, when you put these on, you won’t want to take them off because they are that comfortable. I normally wear 9-9.5 medium width shoes. I purchased a 10 wide, a half size up from my usual shoe size range, to allow for my feet to have plenty of room with hiking socks and because the toes are on my right feet do not lay flat like my left foot. Your toes should not feel squished in any shoe. I got wide because Columbia are usually on the narrow side. My left foot is a medium width (almost narrow) and my right foot is medium width (almost wide). I also purchased Columbia hiking socks which feel amazing in these boots. Quarry is a very pretty grey color with black, light grey and blue accents. Such a pretty color combination. I will be wearing these to walk our dog on the trails in our neighborhood, which I do daily and are often swampy and even flooded in some areas. I was previously using my Brooks Ghost sneakers but too often coming home with mud, wet socks and saturated shoes. We mostly do trails but also mix in some sidewalk walking, so I needed a shoe that would be good on both. I will come back to update my review should they not work well. Super excited to wear them tomorrow on our morning walk through the woods. Update: 2/20/23 I wore these yesterday for a 3 mile walk/hike through trails and on sidewalks walking a dog. They felt great while walking. I did notice that when I took them off, that my one hammer toe had redness from the top of the boots while walking but I never felt this while on the walk. A few hours later and my left knee has some strange pain while going up or down stairs. Next thing I noticed was some lower back pain and pain at the balls of both feet when I woke up this morning. Not sure that I will be wearing these often, maybe only on rainy days, but even then, I am not sure that the pain is worth it. I do have psoriatic arthritis in my knees but this pain is different, so I must have aggravated my knee somehow while wearing these hiking shoes. Debating on returning them because my brooks sneakers work great but I was specifically looking for waterproof and ankle support while on the trails. Update: 2/28/23 I have worn these again and had success, no knee or back pain afterward. Not my favorite shoe for walking our dog on sidewalks and not as comfortable as my Brooks but they are waterproof and are saving me in the trails right now.

Put these on right out of the box and went hiking. I usually wear a size 10 shoe. Bought these in a 10 1/2 wide after reading the reviews. I wore them with thickish socks, and they were pretty comfortable. They are much lighter in weight than I anticipated, which is a good thing. I plan to do some summer hiking with them. I like the black color with the black and poppy red laces. Hoping they are truly waterproof and hold up to many hiking adventures. Plus, the hardware is metal, NOT plastic.

I work outside, everyday, cutting grass and needed a new pair of shoes. I ended up ordering three sets of these with the amazon try before you buy program. Typically I fall somewhere between a 6.5 and a 7. The sizing could go either way depending on the shoe. I ordered a 6.5, 6.5 wide and a 7. The 6.5 was super painful and made my feet go numb within minutes. They pressed hard on my little toes and I ended up taking them off quickly, the wides were almost exactly the same; the 7's ended up being perfect. They need a few days to break in properly but after the initial discomfort they are very comfortable. I walk around 15,000 steps a day and they are holding up well. I like them so much I might buy another set just for casual wear because i just really like the way they look.

I needed a pair of hiking shoes to arrive in less than 48 hours. These also had great reviews so I ordered them. I did not test them out. I wore them on 4 mile hike three days in a row. Uneven terrain. They were amazing. They preformed so well. No blisters. No rubbing. They were comfortable. I had contemplated going out a purchasing a more expensive pair of hiking shoes. I am so thankful I didn’t!!!!! No regrets. 10/10.
