  • Outstanding boots if you get the right size
Size: 10 Wide Color: Quarry, Cool Wave
It took me 5 pairs before I finally got the right size for these. Most Columbia boots run small and narrow. I know this because I own two different types of Columbia snow boots. They are the only brand I wear for snow/winter for the last 20 - 30 years. I bought these assuming they would also run small, big mistake. If you buy the right size, when you put these on, you won’t want to take them off because they are that comfortable. I normally wear 9-9.5 medium width shoes. I purchased a 10 wide, a half size up from my usual shoe size range, to allow for my feet to have plenty of room with hiking socks and because the toes are on my right feet do not lay flat like my left foot. Your toes should not feel squished in any shoe. I got wide because Columbia are usually on the narrow side. My left foot is a medium width (almost narrow) and my right foot is medium width (almost wide). I also purchased Columbia hiking socks which feel amazing in these boots. Quarry is a very pretty grey color with black, light grey and blue accents. Such a pretty color combination. I will be wearing these to walk our dog on the trails in our neighborhood, which I do daily and are often swampy and even flooded in some areas. I was previously using my Brooks Ghost sneakers but too often coming home with mud, wet socks and saturated shoes. We mostly do trails but also mix in some sidewalk walking, so I needed a shoe that would be good on both. I will come back to update my review should they not work well. Super excited to wear them tomorrow on our morning walk through the woods. Update: 2/20/23 I wore these yesterday for a 3 mile walk/hike through trails and on sidewalks walking a dog. They felt great while walking. I did notice that when I took them off, that my one hammer toe had redness from the top of the boots while walking but I never felt this while on the walk. A few hours later and my left knee has some strange pain while going up or down stairs. Next thing I noticed was some lower back pain and pain at the balls of both feet when I woke up this morning. Not sure that I will be wearing these often, maybe only on rainy days, but even then, I am not sure that the pain is worth it. I do have psoriatic arthritis in my knees but this pain is different, so I must have aggravated my knee somehow while wearing these hiking shoes. Debating on returning them because my brooks sneakers work great but I was specifically looking for waterproof and ankle support while on the trails. Update: 2/28/23 I have worn these again and had success, no knee or back pain afterward. Not my favorite shoe for walking our dog on sidewalks and not as comfortable as my Brooks but they are waterproof and are saving me in the trails right now. ... show more

  • Very Happy, Runs Small, Order UP
Size: 9.5 Color: Black, Poppy Red
I work in Podiatry, and am serious about foot health and proper footwear. I just received my boots today - I am normally an 8.5, but in running shoes I go up to a 9 as I prefer my feet spread out and want my prescription orthotics to be properly seated. I have mild bunions and need a wide toe box. I read the reviews and decided to order a 9.5 based on what was being reported back about these and as I've never had Columbia brand boots before I wanted to be on the safe side. I am SO DAMN HAPPY. They are decent at the toe box and the flex point doesn't pinch or hit me funny. The removable insoles came out easy and I slipped orthotics in, laced up, and walked around. They are nice and light, not bulky, and I was wearing no show socks and will def be wearing thicker wool socks. I am going to Iceland in October and wil report back with how they held up. ... show more

  • Excellent Product, but adjust your order to 1-size up if you plan to purchase.
Size: 8 Wide Color: Elk, River Blue
GORGEOUS, Classy, Neat, Attractive, Strong toe and model, good product and it runs small so i had to return mine, but, it was super gorgeous and a GREAT PRICE. It is a medium weight product, heavier than the more lightweigh tennis show style hiker, and strong but not as heavy as the old fashioned hard shell type boot that this is. If I were to wear this, my toes and ankles would definitely be SAFE! I personally prefer a wider toe type, and I could see if I would order the proper size in regard to this product, it might be wide enough. For me, I am an 8 and my foot went right to pressing the toe, so, if I were to order this, i might go a whole size up to 9 versus a half size. Not sure, just aim for bigger than your usual dress shoe when you order this product. IT WOULD EVEN BE WORTH IT TO ORDER IT, RETURN IT, AND JUST RE-ORDER TO THE SIZE THAT YOU THINK IT MIGHT FIT -- as it is CLEARLY A CLASSY SOLID ATTRACTIVE AND AFFORDABLE SAFE BOOT! ... show more

  • Love these boots!
Size: 7.5 Color: Quarry, Cool Wave
I love these so much, I am going to buy a second pair to stash away for when this pair wears out in case I can't find them again. After minimal breaking in (around the house and on paved streets in my neighborhood), I wore them on a 5 week trip where we hiked every single day. No blisters, sore spots, foot odor, or especially important, no sore knees at the end of the day! I'm 46 and have had some previous knee issues so I've found my footwear makes a big difference. We were hiking in mostly cool, arid conditions in Texas, Arizona, and New Mexico. The majority of the hikes were in the 'moderate-to-difficult' category, averaging 5 miles in length, but ranging from 3-15. I especially felt they protected my toes and soles well when hiking on loose, rocky terrain. I wore Darn Tough wool hiking socks, and sneakers in between hikes at camp and in the car. After returning home a month ago, I started wearing these boots for my daily walk (3 miles on pavement, presently covered with ice and snow). They've been terrific, gripping the ice well and keeping my feet warm and dry. They are still in great shape. I feel they do have a bit of a narrow fit, which works for my foot shape but others may want to consider trying the Wide version if this is an issue. Strongly recommend! ... show more

  • Incredibly comfortable!
Size: 7 Color: Black, Poppy Red
So, I bought these to use as work boots. I was doubtful of how good they'd be because of the price; I'm used to good boots being $150+. But I was happy to discover that these are awesome boots at a killer price. The Great: Very comfortable from the start, almost no break in period, lightweight, durable, simple appearance, the price. They've been warm in cool weather and cool in warm weather. The Good: The leather has held up well so far with minimal scuffs. The Less Than Ideal: I wish the toe was more solid and the ankle support a little more robust. They aren't totally waterproof. All in all, these are an excellent value. Probably my favorite pair of hiking boots I've ever owned, and I've owned plenty of expensive ones over the years. ... show more
