I've had these boots for 3 years and so far they are the only boots I've ever hiked in. I do plan to upgrade to other boots soon but these are great entry level boots. They are water resistant in my experience, not waterproof. Stepping in one big puddle of water will be fine. Slogging through several puddles will eventually cause your socks to get damp. I think the grip or traction is ok for dry weather. Wet rocks and vertical scrambles on wet rocks is fine. However tree roots or slick logs - traction is poor for me. Icy trails will win against the boots. I fell down several times trying to walk on ice in these. Not the boots fault, I wasn't wearing ice spikes. Just don't wear them in winter weather. There are no signs of the boot peeling open or falling apart which is great. One negative is that the upper tongue portion becomes floppy and loose during hiking. Lacing up the boots tighter doesn't help because the tie sort of slides down under the label leaving an inch or so closest to your ankle free to move and loosen, causing the boot to not feel secure on the foot. ... show more

I was looking for hiking boots for our trip to Yellowstone. Since we were going in September, the weather was unpredictable. And I needed boots that could handle anything. I was amazed at the comfort of the boots. Hiking for 6+ miles a day and my feet never tired. I've used these on a couple hikes now - for shorter, easy-moderate hikes they're great. I just did a tougher hike, and sadly I don't think they offered enough support. I have shin splints and heel pain, as well as blisters - I was using Brooks running shoes before these and never had those problems. I will say they're very warm, they're cute, and I think with some insoles and decent socks they'll be fine. They definitely stretch a little with some wear, so while initially they felt like a perfect fit they do feel a little big, now. I got a 7 and generally wear a 7. Once you break them in they're roomy - I have an average sized foot, not narrow or wide. Overall, they're pretty good! With some adjustments I'll keep using them, but for what I paid I think there might be better hiking boots out there that offer more support. ... show more

I work in a factory that uses powder as part of the manufacturing process. it gets everywhere and even my food service non-slips were no match for it. I had a pair of these in red from a few years ago and started wearing them to work and they were perfect. It’s like there is no powder unless it’s a very thick layer. These are a lifesaver. Break in period is about a week but then it’s so perfect.     • Comfortable but not for winter!

I bought these for my walks. They are fairly comfortable. Look okay. They are not leather they are a plastic outer material. Winter here is usually anywhere from 20 degrees to 40 degrees. The plastic outer gets cold and since they are unline, even two pairs of socks don't keep my feet warm. These might be good for spring or summer but no way for cold winter walking. Next year I will be looking for a better and warmer walking boot. ... show more

Just as pictured. Used these for hiking in October, first hiking boots ever. Comfortable and cute color. I like that they come in wide width. They didn’t hurt or slide. I would buy again in the future.
