I bought true to my size and they fit perfectly - compression in all the right places. I love the 4 hooks at the top to give the ankle the support it needs. I bought these shoes because I LOVE hiking and recently had ankle surgery that severely compromises my ankle stability, so I was always nervous about twisting my ankle and re-tearing everything. I wore these boots today on a short 4.5 mile hike to break them in but quickly realized they don't even NEED to be broken in. My feet felt amazing after the hike! Not to mention I did tramp in some puddles along the way and my feet stayed dry! They not only offer the support I need around my ankle, but compression in all the right places to make them very comfortable! Though I ended up returning them to buy lower hiking shoes instead, I did love these. They’re very light weight and feel comfortable. I sized up because I have wide feet, but had I decided to keep them I would’ve reordered a regular size.
