I've worn various shoes/boots bearing the Columbia marque for ten or twelve years now. My job has me on my feet 8-10 hours a day constantly walking back and forth. I started off wearing regular low-cut walking/hiking shoes but quickly changed to the mid-boot style for better ankle support. I've worn both the Crestwood and Redmond varieties and both worked well. Both styles lasted me about 18 months but invariably, because of their construction combined with choice of materials, ultimately wore out at the same place... where the toe-box flexes by the ball of your foot. The woven fabric material inevitably developed holes at this point.... no matter how well I took care of them. I recently decided to try these Newton Ridge Plus IIs and am quite surprised. They looked a bit "clunky" in the photos but they fit like a dream. I've never had a shoe/boot fit so well and they're much lighter than what they look like in photos. I wanted an all-around waterproof boot that will hold up to winter weather... doing chores... going food shopping... general work-day use and these look like they'll fill the bill... time will tell. If they wear as well as they fit, they're my choice going forward. Plus... they don't cost a fortune. Comparable boots by Keene, Merrell and Timberland regularly run $40-$50 more. ... show more

These boots if you want to use if just working in the yard or driving a truck. Excellent ankle support great to walk in. Just the right support for your back. You may think why your back, well comfort starts with the nerves in your feet which while walking gives the comfort with wise and the souls. Coming from someone who has had heal spurs surgery & my husbands back surgery they are so comfortable. Both of us drive a truck so we are heavy on telegram usage of these boots. They last a long time. Also remember we are all different in walking the type of support you need but for us yes we will be buying more. We have been using them for a couple of years now. I would love more styles as a women cause they are more comfortable then my sneakers. If feels like you have no boot on. ... show more

No foot slippage, traction for days, good looking, super, super comfy. Very good boots. I’m a boot snob, so even though I own Hanwags, Scarpas, Danners, and Salewa boots, these are my everyday boot when I want to wear hiking boots casually or while I’m working. It needs to be noted that the tongue gusset on these stops at the top of the foot- NOT the top of the boot. That being said, I have never had the tongue sideways, or my foot inside the boot exposed due to tongue slippage. Tongue stays right in between the laces because of the way the boot is made. So even though I like the tongue gusset to come all the way up to the cuff of the boot, the low gusset on these boots have never presented me with an issue (which I was wary of). ... show more

I walk through chemical foot bath everyday it was hard to find a boot that lasts ,well that one does lasted long it has been 10 months I m ordering another one just in case but the one i m using still good no leaks

By far the most comfortable shoes I’ve ever had. Very lightweight for being leather boots. I wear them every day from the time I leave the house to the time I get ready for bed and each pair I’ve had has lasted me 10-12 months (which is about all I ever get no matter the price point). I’ve worked construction, hunted, hiked, climbed 14,000 ft mountains, and jumped out of planes with these for a couple years and the only complaints I have revolve around the boot being made of a dark leather. They don’t breathe well and because of the dark color they are miserably hot on 90+ degree days when in direct sunlight for hours. But again, they’re dark leather. I knew these were gonna be issues when I bought them the first time, but now I’m on my third pair. They’re more comfortable than any Solomon shoes I’ve ever had and I’ll continue to buy them as long as Columbia has them available. ... show more
