    • Very nice pants.
I normally wear 34x31 in jeans. I bought several of the Pilsner Peak, the Silver Ridge, and Blood and Guts pants for comparison. Pilsner Peak pants: Fits a bit slim. Especially at the waist. Probably closer to 33 inches than 34. It rides a bit lower on the hip than the Silver Ridge and therefor a bit snug in the crotch. The length are the same. The Pilsner Peak are closer in style to a typical dress pants. Just one extra slot for pen or knife. The rear pocket is not flapped. The fit at the thigh is good for me. I have medium/thin thighs and it's not snug, but just right. If you have large thighs, you'll find these might be too slim. The leg then drops stragith. Material is woven, feels very nice. It's light material. I like it more than the nylon feeling of the Silver Ridge pants. Silver Ridge pants: the fit is very similar toe the Pilsner fit in that it's a bit slim. There's more pockets at the thight and the rear pockets are flapped. There is an elastic waist. It does come with a pretty cheap but functional 1 inch nylon belt. It rides just a bit higher on the hips than the Pilsner and the fit makes your butt look better. The material is more of a typical nylon feel. Not as comfy as the Pilsner but is still very comfrotable overall. Blood and guss: much looser fit from the hip down. If you want lots of flexibility in movement, this is your pants. The waist is a bit slim like the other two pants. There is minimal elasticity. The material is the thickest of the 3. Doesn't mean it's thick, just a bit thicker of the 3. Still a summer pants. Because the fit is loose on my thighs and lower legs, these are my least favorite of the 3 pants. ... show more

    • Lightweight and look good

I purchased these pants for a South African Safari vacation because I needed lightweight pants with good pockets in a neutral color that would allow maximum running speed in case of a charging lion or buffalo (you don't need to be faster than the animal, just faster than the other guests). Weight was particularly important because of the low weight limits on the small airplane flights between safari locations. These pants are incredibly thin and light, yet quite durable. I also needed a neutral color because bright colors are apparently not ideal for animal observation (black colors attract Tse Tse flies, and white pants could attract the dreaded honey badger, which will attack the nether-regions if provoked). Anyway, the pockets are voluminous, with a convenient zipper on the left and velcro on the right (I like having both options and intend to keep bacon bits in the velcro pocket to throw off any charging lions).     • IGNORE THE NEGATIVE LISTINGS AND READ MINE!!!!!
I had been looking for a couple of reasonably priced, light weight hiking pants for quite a while. I wanted something with a similar look, feel and function to the high-end edc pants I have but without the triple digit price tag. After reading the reviews for these pants I was really leery about ordering them even though they seemed to be exactly what I was looking for... but I figured what the heck, returning things through Amazon is easy so I ordered a pair. In a lot of the reviews people recommend ordering at least a size larger than your actual waist size so I took that advice and ordered the correct length but two sizes larger than I normally wear. The pants came and they were just a little large in the waist, so if you like your pants to fit perfect I would recommend ordering only one waist size larger than you actually wear. I ordered a length of 32 and the length is more like a 34 but that works out fine for me because I tuck them into my boots when hiking anyway. These are really nice pants, especially for the less than $30. I'm surprised and a even a little disappointed by some of the reviews I read because they almost convinced me not to purchase them. They are light weight, breath easy and well made and they look nice too. I ordered another pair which arrived yesterday and the fitting was the same as the first pair. I love these pants and couldn't be happier with both purchases. There are two reasons I gave this review 4 stars instead of 5. The first reason is because the sizing is off, a 38 inch waist should be 38 inches, you shouldn't have to spend 45 minutes reading reviews to know you have to order a size larger than you actually wear. The second reason is the listing. The colors are odd names such as "Tusk", "Fossil", "Gravel", "Grill", etc. I had a pretty good idea what those colors were until I viewed the listings. There are three pictures for the Fossil listing and each picture shows a different colored pair of pants... and its the same with a couple of the other ones. Personally I didn't care what color pants I received (as long as they weren't hot pink or neon green) but the pictures in a listing should be accurate and a customer should know what color they are ordering.     • These are my go-to pants
These are great pants and have replaced jeans as my go-to pants. They’re lightweight and roomy, very comfortable, and well made. They have elastic in the waist on the left and right, giving them a nice fit. They have 2 roomy side pockets, two rear pockets with velcro flap closures, a pocket in the right leg with a velcro flap closure, and a pocket on the left leg with a zip. These pants are lightweight, so if you live in a colder climate you’ll need a layer underneath them at times. I am a size 36 waist and the 36 pants fit me perfectly. Other reviewers have noted they measure a little longer than the stated size. I have 3 pairs in a 30” length and they all measure 31”. The pants come with a fabric belt but frankly I find it more decorative than functional. With the elastic in the waist I don’t find a belt all that necessary. I have 3 pairs: Gravel is a dark green-grey color, Tusk is a mid-range khaki color, and Fossil is a light khaki. These pants are very easy to care for. They wash and dry quickly and don’t retain creases. In fact, you can hang-dry these in a few hours. ... show more
