I bought these for my son after I bought the same ones (in another color). This is the feedback I put on mine: After several hiking routes through the mountains, my boots look as if they had not been used. After a good cleaning at the end and removing all the mud, they look like new. They are very comfortable, they look good, they seem to be very sturdy, they have excellent grip in mud, gravel and loose dirt, and they are also waterproof. What more can I ask for? Always love Columbia's stuff! I have lost track of how many shoes I have bought over the years! The shoes usually last a year on average, whereas I bought shoes that lasted me 3 months only. The leather on these boots are thin. They are very comfortable - and do not take any time for break in. This is not really a hiking boot because it lacks ankle support. The bottom sole is aggressive enough for a hiking boot - but the remaining structure of the boot is very soft. They "tongue" is not leather - but rather a mesh cloth. I will keep them for walking around the yard - but they will not work for me for hiking on trails or as a early season hunting boot. ... show more

These boots are the most comfortable boot I've ever owned. Usually, the boots I buy have a tendency to bother my left outside foot.
