Got these for an overseas trip in which we hiked a lot. Very wet and muddy hikes but my feet never got wet. Then went on a 3 day 30 mile hike and my feet were comfortable...no burns or blisters. We hiked a lot of dried streams...very rocky...and the shank support was ok but could have used a little more support. My feet felt ok but I felt some of the rocks after awhile. I have a pair of Oboz with a VERY firm shank but are slippery on wet rocks and are so stiff they can be punishing after 10 or 12 miles. The Newtons were very grippy on all surfaces and I felt secure shimmying down wet rock surfaces. 10-15 miles is likely all I'll ever do in a day so these are working out well.

I bought these for light walks and hikes, particularly morning sessions to offset the dew. The fit and comfort is pretty close to perfect. I only use these for about an hour max per hike, but I haven't experienced any feet fatigue or discomfort. The main reason I bought these was to protect against my feet getting wet and this past day it poured, saturating and eventually flooding this trails entrance. The water was deep enough to make it past the boots first set of eyelets and my feet never experienced wetness the remainder of the hike

I wear a 10.5 in Sketchers w/ and w/out dr scholl inserts and this boot fits a little snug. This 10.5 Columbia was maybe passable w/o inserts, but with was way too tight. Went 11 and after a day they feel really good now. Like the top metal hooks for the laces, seems made well overall. Light weight. I'm using these for work so they see a lot of pavement, wondering how the aggressive tread will hold up. I could see these really being at home on a dirt trail. Overall happy with the switch for a lightweight work boot. They look pretty great in black too.

I always knew Columbia was a good product, but never had any before. They're light and comfortable. So far very durable. I wear them most every day, comfortable to walk in from day one and I usually walk 3 to 5 miles a day, if it weren't for winter coming and this particular boot not being insulated, I'd wear them until it was time to get another pair, might just get another pair anyhow so when/if I wear these out by maybe next fall ... I'll have them 😊

Love the boots. Great value for cost relative to other products out there. I just received my second pair. I wore the first pair for a little over a year. Could wear them still, but worn enough to no longer be as comfortable. Love that they're essentially waterproof, good for hiking, have used them as a light-duty work boot, not bad in the snow for at least part of the winter, though not a real snow boot. On the slightly negative side, I never have to get a wide shoe/boot except with these. My original ones were wide sized and fit more like a "normal" width. I made a mistake on ordering and had to return one pair, but got that quickly corrected by ordering another in Wide. I'm very glad Amazon makes this as easy as can be.

These are to me the best hiking boots money can buy. The best bang for the buck. You get an awesome package of waterproof, traction, comfort, stability, and durability. I bought a new pair after 7 years of putting my old ones through it. I’ve hiked volcanoes, backpacked Iceland, hit Yosemite, and every backpacking adventure in between. These boots made me feel invincible. My old ones are still going strong but they are starting to show their age after 7 years and don’t know when they’ll give. LOVE THEM.

These were very comfortable right off the box. There was no breaking in required although a little bit of breaking in period is never a bad idea. I hiked a part of the Appalachian Trail with these and they were very reliable and grippy on every type of surface. I felt confident on any terrain. As a bonus they look good with casual wear as well so will definitely wear them to school/work on cold winter days.
