  • Comfy, waterproof hiking sneakers
Size: 9.5 Color: Graphite/Black
These seem to be near-perfect, virtually waterproof, walking/light hiking, sneaker-y, wide in the toe shoes. They're warm but not sweaty and feel kind of bouncy, which is good. I tried them out at the recent "No Kings" demo in a light steady rain and they kept my feet dry, tho the tops appeared to absorb water. The only slight concern is they smell strongly of vulcanized rubber, an industrial smell that I hope will go away after wearing them outside. Also, somewhat cheaper than other name brands and quite comfy, even when new. ... show more

  • Eight month daily driver review: great all-rounder shoe, could use some improvements
Purchased this pair in May 2023, have been using it as a daily driver for work and for weekends in the past eight months. Fit: true to size, I use Nike casual shoes as a generic benchmark and it feels the same in size. Pros: - Awesome support! I can stand in these for over four hours without feeling fatigue. In other pairs of office and casual dress shoes I've tried, I can't stand in them for more than a maximum of two hours before feeling uncomfortable. Something about these Fairbanks sole designs allow long time standing more comfortably, I'm guessing it has to do with the studded design to allow pressure on the foot to release. - Great water resisting. While it's not goretex nor waterproof, it does a nice job of preventing any light water splashes that is caught on the fabric to reach your feet. This was tested in the rain and in riverbeds, I've noticed the material keeps the water on the outer layer. There is a Cons: - Ankle strap is somewhat useless, a revision consideration is to loop it to make it function better. - Can trap heat inside, if you are a sweaty feet person, this is going to happen with certainty. This is due to the padded suede design on the back plus the main fabric weave doesn't ventilate quickly. - It's not grippy in slippery conditions, one example being marble floors and soap. But in the ice, snow and mountains it has no problem for conditions with generic forest trails. Have not attempted on trails made up of loose rocks. After 8 months of daily use, some cosmetic threads are starting to come out on some corners of the laces and the bottom sole has already worn off that where the logo is almost no longer visible. This is a bit quick for maybe 300-500 miles of use. Overall 4.25/5 stars, there is a lot of room for improvement if Columbia decides to add features in the next revision. ... show more

  • I love this shoe, I have bought it multiple times.
Size: 11.5 Color: Graphite/Black
I have bought this same shoe at least 4 times now, I love them. They are my daily drivers and I am someone who likes to get at least 10,000 steps a day. Super comfortable shoe and versatile, I usually get the Nori/Golden Nugget version but they didn't have my size this time. The number of complements I have received on the Nori/Golden Nugget version is astronomical, just a great looking shoe I guess. The only drawbacks with this shoe is the light webbing can rip or get holes in it if you are rough on shoes, and they are not super waterproof. If you step in a large puddle you will have wet socks which can be unpleasant, so just avoid that. ... show more

  • Comfortable with great traction
Size: 12 Color: Graphite/Black
I really like these shoes for daily wear. I would classify them as casual outdoor shoes. They are very comfortable but lack the support of a true outdoor or hiking boot/shoe. If you're thinking these are replacements for something like a Keen hiking shoe, they're not built to the level of a Keen. But that's ok, they serve a purpose and for the price, I'm very happy with them. They fit true to size for me and they've held up very well over the past couple of months. They look good, have great traction, and for the price I'm very happy. For heavy duty trail use they may fail sooner than something like a Keen, but then again, you paid less than half the price, so maybe that's ok. I think they perform very well for the price range. ... show more

  • Columbia did not stand behind their product.
Size: 14 Color: Graphite/Black
Final Update: I tried contacting Columbia and was informed that they would not warranty clothing for smells. So, good luck to you if you want to take a gamble on buying clothing from them that continues to smell like their manufacturing process for weeks/months after the date of purchase. They did offer to educate me on smells though. Which I thought was helpful, seeing as I clearly have no idea what clothing should smell like when it's new. ------------------ Update: After wearing these for almost a month for work, the smell is still there. I have actually left them outside twice. One time I left them out the entire weekend. I even drive them inside of a pillowcase on low heat. Nothing gets rid of it. If I get in my vehicle after a few minutes of air circulating, the whole vehicle smells strongly of new shoe smell. Unfortunately, I am outside of the return window, but I will try to contact the manufacturer as this is obviously a defect. Buyer beware ------------------- My review is based solely (get it) on smell. These fit fine and are comfortable. But they smell horrible. I had to set them outside for a day to help them vent. Imagine that they dumped a bucket of the shoe-factory-new-shoe-chemical smell all over your house. That’s what the entire house smelled like for days. Honestly the first day I wore them I thought I had used like 20 dryer sheets by mistake. I couldn’t figure out why my shirt smelled so chemically. Finally at home i realized it was the shoes and put them out in the sun for a day. That helped. ... show more

  • Fair
Size: 9 Color: Deep Olive/Desert Sun
Decent shoe but only lasted about 4 months before the sole came unglued. Worn almost every day outside in, dirt, mud etc. I work on a ranch but don’t like clunking around in boots. Other than the sole separating, the shoes held up and were comfortable.
