Frequently asked questions

The Columbia Crestwood Hiking Shoes are made of a combination of leather, mesh, and rubber. The upper is constructed from a durable and breathable suede leather and mesh combination while the indoors lining features a lightweight cushioning midsole. The outsole is made of non-marking rubber, ideal for good traction.

No, while these shoes are not entirely waterproof, they are made with a design that is highly resistant to light rain and splashes, keeping your feet dry in mild weather conditions. For heavy downpours or crossing rivers, you may want more water-resistant options.

Most users report that the Columbia Crestwood Hiking Shoes fit true to size, and they offer a secure, comfortable fit right out of the box. However, if you are planning to wear thick socks or have wider feet, it might be a good idea to size up for added comfort.

While the Columbia Crestwood Hiking Shoes are robust and comfortable, they are best suited for light to moderate hiking trails. If you're planning for longer, more strenuous hikes or backpacking trips, you might want to consider a more heavy-duty hiking boot.

  • Good Comfortable Shoes with a Wide Fit
Size: 10 Wide Color: Camo Brown, Heatwave
Bought as I needed a wide fit. These are wide. So they fit comfortably. The sole is good and anti slip. The shoes have decent, not great, padding and are comfortable to walk in. Overall very good value for money.

  • Good shoes
Size: 8 Color: Shark, Columbia Grey
Excellent shoes. Very comfortable during the first week I wore them, but then dropped off a bit. After about 3-4 months of wearing them one of the threads has frayed on the toe. I use these shoes primarily for walking, but perhaps it was caused by a sharp object. Otherwise there’s been no damage. The wide size is comfortable enough for my feet, although they are still pushed together slightly. When the wind blows I can feel the breeze through my toes, so there’s some estimate on its breathability. Haven’t stepped in many puddles but when I do the shoe stays relatively dry. ... show more

  • Size up if you need a wider fit
Size: 14 Color: Camo Brown, Heatwave
These are great looking shoes. I purchased these for my boyfriend who is usually a size 13w. So I ordered the 14 & he loves them. He says they’re comfortable & keep his feet dry & they are pretty durable so far. He’s worn them daily doing just about anything you can in them for 3 months now & so far so good. ... show more

  • Confortable Shoes
Size: 12 Color: Dark Brown, Baker
I have not ordered Columbia shoes in a while but thought I would give them a try again. These shoes are very comfortable, lightweight and look good. I was pleasantly surprised in the quality and fit. If I find an issue with them after wearing them for a few months then I will update this review.

  • Excellent shoes
Size: 11 Color: Camo Brown, Heatwave
Some Columbia shoes give a sensation like walking on a 1/4 inch board. Not these, the soles feel substantial and supportive without going overboard. Compared to the Merrell Moab 3, the material and build quality are equivalent. The Moab may feel a bit more stable, but for me the arch support is over engineered and there is a seam that made them unusable for me. No such trouble with these Columbias. There’s just enough arch, and just the right amount of support. Very comfortable to walk in all day. They aren’t waterproof nor should they be, so they are breathable and my feet won’t sweat. Perfect for the colder months. If it’s slushy it really wet I have Kamiks and vintage Merrell duck boots. Overall these may be the best lower priced Columbia walking shoes. ... show more

  • Comfortable and durable
Size: 11.5 Color: Dark Brown, Baker
I bought these to replace pair of Columbia hiking shoes I had managed to wear out over several years. These felt great right out of the box and size was perfect. Definitely a great buy.
