I Just needed a basic folding cot for occasional overnight visits and after using a 3 piece floor folding mattress, which is definitely uncomfortable, read other reviews about the Colman and decided to give it a try. Shipping was very fast, setup easy-just unfold, slide the mattress from the bottom to the top and you’re done. The cot seems very comfortable and the larger size was a plus-I’m 5’10” and weigh 170 and have plenty of room. When folded it’s easy to handle and the mattress seems adequate even though you wouldn’t think so by looking at it. As for the only down side which is no deal breaker by any means, I thought that it being Coleman, it would be made in USA-not so. Like everything else it’s made in China. ... show more

I am really pleased with the cot itself but the mattress has a big issue. It has a strong objectionable odor, a strange chemical scent. I tried airing it out outside. I have encased it with a flannel sheet and blankets. Still, problematic and my pillows and blankets now have the smell. The room where I have it smells from it. I haven't gone camping with it but I think even sleeping outdoors would be an issue for me. Edit: Changing rating from three stars to five. Called the Coleman company and they made things right. I got this cot because my son had just bought a house and he had no furniture just a mattress. I visited him a couple of times and sleeping on the carpet floor was painful. I really don't do reviews. This one I had to because it really deserves one. For someone who just moved, I needed a sturdy cot sleeper until I can purchase my bedroom set. I am really impressed of how comfortable it is for me. We go camping about 3 times a year but now that my son is in Cub Scouts we are at the mercy of their camping plans. While we wouldn't normally choose going tent camping in September in Central Texas, it was a scout activity so we had to figure out how we'd stay cool. I normally use air mattresses because they're easy to store and I only need two queens for my family. However, it's always a toss-up if you're going to wake up on a deflated mattress or not. It's also quite warm to snuggle up with someone, so a cot seemed like the best solution to give airflow throughout the tent and around our bodies. I slept comfortably all night on this cot with a portable fan blowing on me and in a summer sleeping bag. The next day I experienced no new aches or pains, so that's a win in my book! I am now fully supportive of camping cots and find them superior to the air mattress. If only they were as compact to store! We were able to tuck the sleeping pad into the cot so that it folded nicely and keeps it all together. We hang this in our garage so it stays out of the way. The only thing I would change is having the ability to recline. I bought a reclining cot for my son and he really enjoyed having the ability to sit up and read or look at his device. I haven't looked for it yet but if Coleman makes a reclining option, I'll be getting that for the other two in my household. ... show more

Got this for tent camping but have tried it while in a camper too instead of the pull out bed. Works and sleeps great! Doesn’t cause the back pain that the camper pull out was causing.

I bought this cot to use when we had visitors. It is lightweight and easy to store in the closet. I have also used it myself on occasion to take a nap. It is surprisingly comfortable and I would definitely buy it again.
