Love these. Cheap and efficient. Sharp and will inflict serious damage don't use on anyone you don't have to the way it's shaped it can't be stitched back up is what I'm told. Will pass metal detectors, won't rust, stays sharp, it's a stabber not a cutter. Great self defense tool I wouldn't want to be on the wrong side of it.

These Darts appealed to me because you can't accidentally cut yourself on them, and they're cheap and nearly indestructible. Make no mistake. Despite being plastic, they are not a "less than lethal" self defense tool. These aren't kubatons. Especially with the hard-to-stitch triangular wounds these could make, they could VERY easily be deadly. They're not toys, and you should keep them away from kids and people uncomfortable with the idea of using deadly force in a self-defense situation. The tips start out quite pointy but dulled slightly after I punctured cardboard boxes a couple hundred times (yet the tips still worked after this, a good sign). I only wish they were a *little* more compact. Maybe 1/2" off the "blade" and and inch off the handle. They stick out awkwardly in some of my pants and thus got relegated to the night stand by my bed instead of taking them out while walking at night.

Note: Do not buy any other "size" than 1. Buy multiples of the size 1 if you want more. It appears Amazon doesn't see the "size" as quantity, and even though I ordered the size 4 expecting to get 4 in the package (price reflects this) I only received one. Save yourself the hassle! If you've never seen a weapon like this, it's essentially a commercially made and enhanced version of a prison shiv. These are not meant to replace a steel knife in terms of defensive ability. These are cheap, light, rust-proof, and most likely strong enough for a single defensive encounter. Buy multiple to keep hidden around the house (never rusting means that they can even be hidden in the elements or in places like your toilet tank) and, say in the case of a home invasion, you have an option to defend yourself with something other than your bare fists. A bit long to carry around though, the only thing I can think of for long-term carry is keeping it in a sheath on the inside of a high boot. So long as something like this fits into your situation (and at 4 bucks a pop it's pretty easy to find somewhere for it), this is an awesome weapon. Tip is sharp, texture around the handle helps with grip. You can buy a toothbrush and shave it down on some concrete for authenticity, but it wouldn't have anything on the Delta dart.

First, let's clear up a few things that seem to be driving some of the lower reviews. These are not knives. These are not intended for daily use. These are not intended for any practical application. What these are is a non-metal, very strong, very pointy weapon designed to stab when things go "sideways" and you don't have any other options to defend yourself. In that capacity, these are absolutely perfect. Light and incredibly strong. You may see reviews or videos complaining that these can't stab through a coconut, or a steel door, etc. These reviews are so idiotic as to be not only irrelevant, but also laughable. When do you think you are going to be in a situation where you are in an area where you were not able to bring a gun or a knife with you for protection when, suddenly and without warning, you are attacked by a coconut?! I've attached a couple of pics. One to give you a good idea of the size and one to show you that these things do have insane penetrating power. WIll they pierce a coconut? No. Will they penetrate a heavy winter coat, a tee shirt, a layer of skin, a few inches of subcutaneous adipose and still hit a vital organ? Yes. Guaranteed. That's an inch and a half of corrugated cardboard. No problem.

A PERFECT, stealth carry item. With the metal "keyring" removed, undetectable by metal detectors. You need to fashion some sort of a "Tip Protector" or it will easily punch right through your pocket.

This item is EXTREMELY light weight. I was taken back by that feature alone. I will admit to expecting a bit more heft at least in the handle area, but this is practically zero-encumbrance. It is going to be hard to give a genuine review of the functionality of the product, because I don't plan on having to use it. I bought this strictly as another option for self-dense since the company I work for strictly forbids bladed weapons and firearms in their company vehicles or on your person while you're "on the clock". I asked about this and they actually approved saying it was acceptable and wasn't even a loophole in their system, which I was glad to hear. It feels sturdy, the tip is sharp, and the triangular shape gives me the sense that this can very deeply penetrate any soft tissues with ease. I'm a strong fellow, and I feel I will not have to use much force to get this to puncture. Overall, I think this will be a very welcome addition. As to its durability and Sturdiness, I will just have to let time tell that story, so I will update if I ever have to use this. I'm giving this three stars because I cannot, in good conscience, tell you how sturdy it is, yet, or speak to its durability. It is definitely as advertised, and fits the description as listed on this site. I would have given it a fourth star, but I wanted to heir on the side of caution in case there are more serious buyers willing to give unbiased reviews, as opposed to most of the idiots on here complaining about it not being the color of their favorite cereal, or something else utterly ridiculous.
