This is my first red light therapy device and I’ve been using it for a couple of days now. I can tell that it has been helping ease some pain in my upper back and shoulders. I’ve been using it for 15 minutes on the lowest setting, and my muscles weren’t as achy afterward, so I was impressed. It has easy push buttons to operate it, allowing you to set a timer of either 15 or 30 minutes, and there are 4 power adjustment settings. The screen is also very easy to read. It included a USB charging cable, so I charged it before the first use, and it also includes a pair of glasses to protect your eyes, which work very well. I had to take them off for a second to make sure the red light was on, and it was. So they completely block out the red light. The stand is a nice touch, as holding the device can be tiring; however, it’s not the best quality. The first time I squeezed the holder, a spring popped out of one side. The stand still worked, but it’s very small. The red light device itself seems to be good quality, and I’m looking forward to continuing to use it to help ease my constant shoulder pain. It’s a little pricey, but it does seem to be helping, so I recommend it.

This Cold Laser Therapy Device, Handheld Red & Infrared Light Device with 3×808nm & 18×650nm LEDs, Portable LLLT Light for Humans & Pets, Daily Wellness & Muscle Comfort is really interesting. I have never used anything like this before and am finding it really works! It is easy to use though at first I didn’t understand what the different levels represented but by going back to the photos in the product description I was able to figure it out. By long pressing the power button it turns the light on and with additional short presses you can set a 15 or 30 minute timer. The top half of the button is the level button and with each press the level goes up by 1 with a max of 4 then with another press it goes back down to 1 again. The LCD screen is very easy to read, and it shows the battery level, the strength level and the timer minutes. I haven’t used it with the stand yet as I find it easier to hold it against my skin in the areas that can benefit from the light therapy. I did find that if you don’t handle it carefully that it is easy to accidentally hit the buttons to change your settings. I like that this is rechargeable and comes with a type C cord but you will need your own charger block to plug it into the wall. I have read a bit about this red light therapy and it is interesting how it works. When using it, it seems like nothing, just a red light shining on your skin, there is no vibration, no heat, just light. (There is a bit of a high pitched sound if you hold it close to your ear but there is no effect from that and it is soft enough it is not bothersome.) After using it I do feel a bit of relief from the tension in my shoulders which seems amazing. I think my husband and I are going to get a lot of use out of this.

I ordered this because I already have a full-body red light mat that has been absolutely amazing for my sore muscles. The problem is that sometimes I just don’t feel like getting the entire mat out, finding space for it, and setting everything up. I thought a handheld device would be much more convenient for targeted treatments on nights when only one area is bothering me. This has been really easy to work into my routine. It is lightweight, cordless, and small enough that I can keep it nearby instead of storing it away with my larger equipment. The controls are straightforward, and I like having the choice between 15- and 30-minute sessions. The different modes are easy to cycle through once I figured out which setting I preferred. The adjustable stand is more useful than I expected. I can position the light over the area I want to treat and relax instead of holding the device in place for the entire session. It also charges with USB-C, so I can use a cable I already keep around for several other devices. The infrared LEDs are not visibly bright like the red ones, but that is normal for this wavelength. Protective glasses are included, and I use them during my sessions since the visible red light is fairly intense when the device is close. In the end, this does not replace my full-body mat, but it fills a completely different need. It is much faster to grab for a quick, targeted session, and I have been reaching for it on the nights when setting up my larger mat feels like too much effort.

I picked this up primarily to use on my older dog's joints, but I wanted to try it on myself first before making her the test subject. The package includes the handheld unit, an adjustable stand, a USB-C charging cable, protective glasses, and an instruction manual. The controls are intuitive and easy to figure out, although the print in the manual is very small and worth reading because it contains important safety information. One thing that immediately caught my attention was that "handheld" is misspelled on the box. That, along with another discrepancy, gave me some pause. The Amazon listing describes the light sources as LEDs, but the box identifies the device as a Class 3R semiconductor laser with 650 nm and 808 nm laser diodes. Since it is labeled as a laser device, I recommend using the included protective glasses and following the safety instructions carefully. After using it on my knee for a few days, I think it has helped reduce some of the puffiness I normally notice around my knees at night. I haven't noticed any dramatic changes beyond that, but it is enough that I'll continue using it. The treatment head only gets slightly warm during use, never hot or uncomfortable. My dog has also tolerated the treatments well so far, although it's still too early for me to say whether it has made a noticeable difference for her. If you're planning to use this on a pet, I would be especially careful to keep the laser away from their eyes. Animals can move unexpectedly during treatment, so taking a little extra care around their face is important. The stand isn't the most stable, but it does the job. Overall, I think the device is easy to use and shows some promise, but I do wish the product description more accurately reflected that this is a laser device rather than describing it as LED therapy. That kind of detail matters when it comes to both expectations and safety. I’m giving this 4 stars because the device itself seems to work well and I’ve noticed some reduction in knee puffiness, but I was concerned by the inaccurate product description and would like to see clearer safety information.

I've had really good luck using red light therapy for my own knee and back pain, so I wanted to try something similar for my older dog, who has started having trouble getting up and down and just doesn't seem as comfortable as he used to be. I had tried using one of my larger red light therapy pads on him, but he would pull it off almost immediately. This handheld device ended up being a much better solution. It comes with a stand, so I can set it at the proper angle and distance while he's sleeping. He doesn't even seem to notice it's there, which makes it much easier to use than something that has to be attached to him. The device is lightweight, portable, and very easy to operate. I also like that it combines both 650nm red light and 808nm infrared light, so it targets both surface tissues and deeper muscles. The timer settings is nice, especially since I am using it for my pet, if it was on me I would know to shut it off when done but when I set it up for my pet, I can walk away and not worry about it being left on for a long time. It also is rechargable and comes with eye protection glasses. The quality seems pretty good, and I think it's reasonably priced for a red light therapy device with these features. If you're looking for an easy way to use red light therapy on yourself or a pet, it worked well for me.

After using both the Trewf Cold Laser Therapy Device and the Dawfek model with 5×980nm, 5×905nm, 5×808nm, and 10×650nm, I'd say they each have their place, but the Trewf offers outstanding value for the money. The Trewf combines 3×808nm infrared and 18×650nm red light LEDs in a lightweight, easy-to-handle design. I like that it's straightforward to use, comfortable to hold during longer sessions, and provides good coverage thanks to the larger number of 650nm LEDs. It feels well made, charges easily, and is a great option for anyone wanting an affordable handheld cold laser device for regular home use. The Dawfek is definitely the more feature-rich unit, adding 905nm and 980nm wavelengths along with more infrared laser diodes and advanced controls. If you're looking for maximum versatility and don't mind paying a premium, it offers more customization and broader wavelength options. Those additional wavelengths and features are reflected in its significantly higher price (6x the cost of the one from Trewf). For me, the Trewf hits the sweet spot. It delivers the core 650nm and 808nm wavelengths that many home users look for while costing considerably less than the more advanced multi-wavelength competitors. Unless you specifically need the extra functionality offered by the Dawfek, I think the Trewf represents the better overall value. It performs well, is easy to use, and gives you a lot of capability without stretching your budget. But most importantly, it's pretty effective for mild pain management, and I use it specifically on my plantar fasciitis. Five stars for combining solid functionality, quality construction, and excellent value.

I like that this device is compact, rechargeable, and easy to use. The infrared LEDs are invisible as expected, although I was able to confirm they were working with my phone camera.
