Description

The expert neutral Density Kit Includes: • Cokin filter holder • 4 Cokin adapter rings (see Specs for details) • graduated ND4 hard (2 F-stop) • graduated ND8 hard (3 F-stops) • Full ND4 (2 F-stops) • microfiber Cleaning cloth graduated Neutral Density (ND) filters allow you to reduce the amount of light reaching the sensor on a portion of your picture. This helps control the exposure difference between highlights and shadows for a more balanced exposure and dramatic effect. By rotating the filter-holder and adjusting the position of the filter up and down you can precisely control where the filter has an effect on the image. Adding a full ND filter allows you to reduce the exposure over the whole image. This helps you reduce shutter speeds to create blurred motion effects in water and clouds as an example.

Can't really beat it for the price and works as promised. At this price point, I was expecting some imperfections with the image, some more noticeable fringing and/or color cast. However, it was fairly minimal. The ND filter that came in the kit was just dark enough to do some longer exposures, but it's only a 2 stop, so don't expect to be able to dramatically increase for super long exposures. I'll likely get their ND32 (5-Stop if my math is right). I don't do a whole ton of landscapes on a professional level, however I use ND Filters so I don't have to use HSS and can keep my exposure settings within sync speed. ... show more

I am very pleased with these filters, and can not find any degradation in my images using them. Cokin is a very easy system to use, they are great quality, and much more reasonably priced than the glass alternatives.

The filters cause very distorted and blurry images where the filter blends from density to clear. I’ve used these back in the film days of photography, and they were a good option for graduates neutral density filters, and never experienced this issue. It’s not subtle, it’s quite apparent and will make most images unusable. ... show more
