  • Great kit, value, and customer service!
Color: Navy Size: Medium
I ordered a Medium Navy kit with the white and pink stripes. I am 5’10” and weigh 155lbs with skinny arms/barrel chest build. The medium jersey is more of a club fit on my build. The jersey was a little too loose on the sleeves and lower torso. I prefer a tighter race fit with jerseys. The bibs fit true to size on me. The leg grippers are slightly tight for my thighs. I imagine the grip will loosen over time and fit better. The padding is adequate for 3–4-hour rides. I can’t speak for how comfortable the kit would be on longer rides because I don’t go longer than 4 hours anymore. I do like that I can slide around the saddle easier if I get into the drops or when shifting between saddle/out of the saddle efforts on climbs. As others have mentioned, the front of the bibs run high, and the material isn’t as flexible when lowering the bibs to take a nature break. You’ll have to take off the jersey and then must take down the suspenders to urinate. The fabric is thick so it may not be as breathable on hot days, but it wasn’t a problem on a recent warm day. Overall, the kit is comfortable, and I’ve had no issues whatsoever on rides. As far as durability, I guess time will tell but it’s been a few weeks now and so far, so good. I wish the bib color would match the navy color of the jersey, but black works. The seller was great at communicating and understanding with my jersey size issue and exchanged my medium jersey for small which fit much better. Why spend $400+ on a high-end kit when you can a great kit with lots of design and color options for under $50? You can’t beat the value and quality at this price point. I will never spend $400+ ever again on a kit! I’m one satisfied customer. ... show more

  • After an unfavorable review about sizing (not quality) this company reached out
Color: Black/Blue Strip Size: X-Large
Chamois placement is off making the bibs unwearable jersey sort of fits but the cut is off. (old review) This company asked me how they could make it right and I suggested they use mainstream (Specialized, Bontrager, Garneau, etc.) clothing to determine what's a right cut. They couldn't fix the shorts right off but offered to replace the jersey and since it's winter I said I won't wear a short sleeve until next year so they sent me a long sleeve jersey and I have to say it fits well and the quality is excellent. It's warmer than I expected and happy to have it. Its cost was a tenth of a Garneau I just bought and just as well made and comfy. In a very real way that's why the buying practices of the American public have gravitated to Chinese/offshore goods. As a consumer, Chinese/offshore goods are tempting, but this is the only offshore cycling stuff I have purposely bought. $35 for bib shorts and a jersey had me curious and what I've found, at least with this company, the quality is on par with mainstream companies that ironically have their clothing made offshore. They're in business to make money and presumably pay living wages to their U.S. employees. There's no right or wrong, there just is. All clothing factories are sweat shops, sewing is hard, constant work and it's the pay for those in the trenches that's the difference. Years ago I worked in Miami for a clothing manufacturer and its owner was passionate about cycling and produced a line of clothing I helped design. This factory's real business was swimsuits, contracting with Speedo, Gulbenkian as well as a host of dress manufacturers where minimum orders to create a sewing line, just for one product, was 1300 dozen and up. To interrupt a line to make 20 dozen jerseys and shorts (a big order) was not profitable at all so it and I went bye bye. As an aside, I ordered a limited edition Specialized Founders Edition ebike ($16,500, $1650 deposit and sold out) with an anticipated/suggested but not promised, September delivery. It's now November. I've emailed Specialized twice and got back no reply emails with no information about when its coming. If that's what they consider acceptable customer service--not at all. I'm 81 (sounds older than I am in real life and after 50 years of focused riding do very okay even on hills on my unassisted bikes) and my shelf life is such that waiting is not the same as it used to be. I live to ride and expect to have a few more years to do so. At this point Specialized can take their time as the bike won't see the road until spring and after a few hard rains when the roads are totally free of salt and its residue. FYI salt intrusion makes wheels difficult to impossible to true. On expensive wheels I've found out the hard way. That's my story and I'm sticking to it. ... show more

  • A mixed bag, but overall good
Color: Blue/Pink Stripe Size: XX-Large
Now that I've logged about 12-15 hours in this kit I feel I'm finally ready to review it. First, the fit. This will be the biggest issue for most. I'm 5'9" @ 220lbs and picked up a XXL since the bibs seem to run about a size small based on their fit chart. The bibs fit quite well. The jersey on the other hand is a bit on the big side. Since I carry most of my weight in my torso, it actually worked out well, but if you have more normal proportions, the jersey will like feel somewhere from half a size to a full size too large. My biggest complaint with the fit is the grippers on both the legs and the arms; they're on the tighter side and don't stretch nearly as much as the rest of the garments. For quality, the fabric seems just as thick as some of my more expensive kit. They don't have any issues with being transparent. They feel soft. Overall, they feel on par with bibs and jerseys that cost the same for just one piece. My concern is the stitching and their long term durability. First, it's not flatlock, so it can dig in a little. Second, it seems like its the sketchiest bit. That said, at this cost if they only last one or two seasons, it's not the end of the world at this price point. Finally, there's how comfortable it is on the bike. I know this largely personal, but here's my impression. My favorite bibs are a pair of gen 1 Castelli body paint shorts. Now, I'm not trying to say these are comparable, but they get surprisingly close relative to their price--the Castelli's are nearly 5x the cost for just bibs. These don't have that kind of all day comfort, but they're definitely the second most comfortable pair I own. They have just the right amount of padding. The biggest issue is that the pad tend to work its way back over the course of a ride requiring some adjustments. If the main padding section continued ~ 0.5in-0.75in further towards the front this would be a non-issue (for my sit bones at least). Overall, I'm super happy with them and have gotten more compliments on them than any other kit. They're not without their flaws, but they punch well above their price point. ... show more
