Leather quality- I have 3 other coach bags: the brooklyn 28, the legacy carryall 28, and legacy shoulder bag, this one has the nicest leather out of all of those. Its so soft and buttery!! Its a smooth, fullgrain leather, its not pebbled like the legacy bags. Its similar to the Brooklyn bag leather, but the leather on this bag is so much softer!! The Brooklyn bag leather was a bit stiffer, but I think thats becuase of the design and structural difference. The color is beautiful and rich. Hardware/strap- The clasp is interesting, its a magnetic switch. So to unlock it, you have to press it, and to close it, you have to press it. Its a bit more work to open and close the bag, but I will get used to it. Its a retro style, it reminds me of vintage coach bags, which is really cool. The strap is the perfect length. The Brooklyn bag hangs higher and closer to the armpit, which sometimes felt annoying/bulky and would slip off if you were wearing a coat. This one hangs perfectly just above my hip and the strap accommodates wearing a coat or layers without slipping off. Spaciousness/size- I was hoping it would be a little more spacious, but its just barely big enough to fit my necessities (I put a lot of things in my bag). If you carry a lot of items in your daily bag, consider getting the Chelsea Shoulder Bag 36 rather than the 30. I feel i can fit more in my Brooklyn 28. I bought an internal organizer for this bag (extra $40 from 3rd party seller on amazon) but it helps maximize the limited space and gives the bag a bit more structure. Also, if something spills in the bag, I would rather it spill in the organizer so I can remove it and clean it. Without the additional organizer, it has only one large internal compartment, and a small zippered compartment along the side of the large interal pocket. Similar to the Brooklyn Bag, this bag is a "dump-and-go" style and you will need to rummage to find things if you carry a lot of items. Overall- Its a beautiful bag which is versatile and just spacious enough for daily use. If I compare it to the Brooklyn 28, I would choose this one for leather quality and feel, but I would choose the Brooklyn for functionality since the Brooklyn bag 28 can fit more items. The legacy carryall 28 is still my favorite daily bag for functionality and storage. But this one's leather is so beautiful with the suede-style lining that it's in its own category! My favorite silhouette from Coach right now. This bag can be dressed up or down and fits so much. A timeless looking bag. I find the chain strap to be very comfortable and can be worn multiple ways.

I own a few Coach bags. They are all exceptional quality, but this one by far exceeded my expectations. The craftsmanship stands out. There is not a stitch out of place. Logos and type print are impeccably applied. And the leather is absolutely deliciously buttery. As much as I love the smooth black leather exterior, it’s the brown suede interior that draws me back again and again. It’s such a pleasure to dip your hand into this bag to grab your cell phone or sunnies. The interior’s texture is so soft and inviting. I ordered with the chain handle and I’m so happy I did. I was pleasantly surprised by the heft of the chain handle. It complements the leather bag nicely. The chain can be doubled up for a shorter under the arm look which is the style I prefer. Simply pull one of the loops and it becomes a crossbody or a long shoulder bag. The gold tone chain also steps up the style just enough to make it oh so versatile. I have carried this bag wearing jeans as well as out at night wearing a dress and heels. It looks equally perfect whether you are a casual or chic. So many people have admired the bag and I have only had it a very short time. Zippered and slip in pockets are limited in this bag, which I don’t mind. Quite honestly, I rarely use those tiny zippered interior pockets. The only thing I miss is an exterior slip in pocket for my cell phone. The bag itself is so roomy. During a recent night out, I had more than enough space for eyeglasses, sunglasses, a compact umbrella, a full-size wallet, a hairbrush, some makeup, my key fob, a card, and a small gift for my companion with room to spare. I probably could have removed my lightweight sweater and put that inside the handbag as well had I needed to. Do note that this is a minimally, structured bag, meaning it does not stand up on its own. I might invest in a handbag hanger for those times I find myself in a restaurant where there are no bag hooks. It would be a shame to mar or stain this bag by placing it on a table or having it fall to the floor from the back of a chair. True to form, Coach includes a very well-made and attractive storage bag with string closure for those moments when this bag is not in use. Quite frankly, I can’t imagine not carrying this beauty with me everywhere I go! I absolutely love my new Coach bag and look forward to many years of enjoyment. ... show more
