This spacious shoulder bag is crafted from natural grain leather, featuring a main compartment secured by a magnetic snap closure and an internal snap pocket for small items. Designed to carry up to a 15-inch laptop, it features a generous shoulder strap with a 12.5-inch drop for comfortable over-the-shoulder wear. Its slouchy yet structured silhouette offers a modern, minimal aesthetic suitable for work commutes, travel, and daily use. Having been a Coach fan since the 90s, seeing the brand output absolute must-have pieces like this is so exciting, and the Brooklyn Shoulder Bag 39 completely earns its status. The buttery soft leather feels ridiculously luxurious to the touch, and the gorgeous merlot color easily draws compliments. It holds everything from a large laptop to daily essentials effortlessly, and the magnetic snap closure feels solid and secure. However, it is an large bag that can feel a bit heavy when fully loaded, and the lack of protective metal feet on the bottom is a slight miss for durability. For those who prefer a slightly less oversized look and are more petite like me, stepping down to the 34 size might be the sweet spot, but the high-end craftsmanship and polished style make this a truly fabulous piece and a great value since it will last forever with care.

At this point, this bag is a rite of passage for NY ladies. Well done Coach! Debating on whether to leave her classic or dress her up with charms. I love this bag! The box it was delivered in was huge! Huge! The bag was well protected and came without a blemish and had all the components as it should! The color is deep, cool, and chic. I’ve been waiting around and watching it for a bit so I’m excited to use this as my new school bag. It’s lightweight but still feels sturdy. Bag appears well made and the quality is excellent. I’m glad I went with the Brooklyn 39 Merlot as a 5’9 woman, this bag suits me very well. I also love how the strap sits on my shoulder comfortably. Some bags seem to slide right off. I hope it continues to hold up over time, but this is a lovely purchase & will help throughout school.

This is a beautiful bag but unfortunately it was too big and bulky for me, sadly I had to return it!

Lot’s of room! Beautiful bag! Color is on point! Prove was amazing compared to the loved leather one I got, almost half the price! I sprayed it with suede protection and I’m ridiculously careless, so far nothing has stained or anything that’s would ruin suede, which is really quite easy! I mentioned I have the loved leather, I swear these bags are amazingly durable, comfortable and gorgeous!

I've been a Coach fan since the '80s—yes, the '80s! But as I matured, their offerings didn’t always match my evolving style. However, lately, Coach has been putting out must-have pieces, and the Brooklyn Shoulder Bag 39 is undoubtedly an "IT" bag. The buttery soft leather feels incredibly luxurious, and the spacious design is perfect for fitting everything I need—from my laptop to daily essentials—without feeling bulky. The sleek, modern design makes it versatile enough for both work and casual outings, while the sturdy shape keeps it looking polished. The magnetic snap closure is strong and secure, and I love the thoughtful details like the subtle logo. That said, this bag is quite large, so if you're not into oversized bags, you might want to consider the 23 or 28 models for a more compact option with the same chic look. I do wish it had feet to protect the bottom from wear, and it can feel a bit heavy when fully loaded. Also, an exterior pocket for quick access would be a nice touch. Despite these minor issues, the craftsmanship and style make it a worthwhile investment. I’ve received so many compliments already! I just ordered the Empire Carryall 35 in Brass/Maple—if it's as beautiful as the Brooklyn, Coach will definitely be back in my regular rotation! Highly recommend this bag for anyone looking for both style and functionality.

Amazon is the problem. I received the wrong color and size of Coach (ordered suede received an older, white leather purse). Naturally I returned the purse, with a return receipt, and Amazon denied the return. I’m out $500. Hoping after multiple attempts that Amazon makes this right. Aside from this horrible merchant experience, Coach bags, especially this model are gorgeous and high quality. I did purchase something similar to this listing in Nov 2025 directly from Coach and love the bag. I’m writing the review to help buyers avoid buying high quality goods from Amazon.

I had my eye on this bag for about a year and finally bought it - my first Coach bag! I love the color (merlot) and the big size is perfect for my needs especially as a mom. It arrived expertly packaged. Every piece of hardware protected and inside stuffed and packaged to keep its shape. The big disappointment is that the signature Coach tag was missing. I checked the pocket and unrolled every single piece of packing paper hoping to find it without any luck. I saw a few other reviews mention the missing tag as well. It’s such a trivial thing but I’m so disappointed. It’s not worth the hassle to return and risk not getting a refund.

The purse is beautiful and well crafted. Fortunately I was able to find the exact purse for a lot less on a military base Otherwise I would keep it.
